The Mascara That Does Exactly What It Says On The Tin...

When it comes to makeup, I love it when products tell you what their game is - it's not too much to ask for is it, really? I liked knowing what products are all about so I can decipher just what seems up my street and that I want to try, but obviously, the main thing is they actually live up to all of their claims too. Ain't nobody got time for being misled and all that. So naturally, I was pretty chuffed this past week when I gave this new mascara a go and it did exactly what it claimed to on the tin...

In all honesty, when I first received this mascara in a free set that I got as part of a offer on Soap and Glory in Boots, I initially recognised it from trying it in the past. However, having had a good look round these parts I can now see that was slightly different version of the 'Thick and Fast'. That one was housed in matte black packaging, whilst this has shiny, gold outer casing and I have to admit - the latter version is kinda floating my boat more than the former did. As for why, I'm not entirely sure, but the main thing that really springs to mind is the fact it just seems like a slightly wetter formula. It's not at all watery, but there's just more product actually on the brush to get transferred onto the lashes and so I really do find it gives a super intense, thick look to the lashes - a super quick too. See what I meant about the whole 'living up to expectations' thang? Pretty much as soon as you start lacquering up your lashes with this stuff, you can instantly see a difference - it doesn't need tonnes of work and time and effort to do anything. Despite it being pretty full-on and needing a careful application, it doesn't go at all clumpy and still somehow manages to separate and fan the lashes out and create a lovely, fluttery finish - something that's also rather essential with a mascara for me. It stays in placed all day long without a smudge or flake in sight and hold a curl pretty darn well too. All in all, a mascara that finally seems to match up to the small print...
