Polish Pick: Gold Goddess #DitsyDecember

I assure you if you're ever to think of a Christmassey colour, you're likely think of Gold. Just like Red, Green or Silver - it just really seems to come into its own this time of year, right? And that's exactly why I like to lacquer it on my nails! You can't go wrong with an all gold look - so that's just what I chose to do recently...

To start with, I layered on a couple of coats of the Rimmel 60 Seconds Glitter Nail Polish in 'Oh My Gold!'. A metallic yellow gold with fine shimmer running through it - not only could you easily leave it as it is, it also makes for the perfect base for a more 'complex' all-out gold nail look! Two coats was more than enough to achieve full opacity, it dried in no time at all and left behind a super shiny, metallic finish! However, as I mentioned, I couldn't help but go in with some other lacquers to finish things off and really get my sparkle on - the first being Barry M's Glitter Nail Paint in 'Pure Sunshine'. This glitter polish is just stunning and kind of difficult to pinpoint shade-wise too! It's a light, iridescent gold glitter - but with silver and green flecks running through it at the same time. A unique, but very beautiful glitter and on top of 'Oh My Gold!' it just works so well. Giving it a slightly more cool-toned appearance and of course showering it in tonnes of gorgeous glitter - with a mixture of both larger and finer flecks, giving a lovely multidimensional texture! And because these glitter polishes from Barry M are so concentrated, one layer deposited just the right amount of the sparkly stuff - which was awesome too. Then, to finish things off, I decided to go in with my Rimmel Glitter Top Coat. Of course, I wanted to seal things into place and add a nice shine but also, because it was a super glittery and shimmery look, I figured adding a final dose of the stuff to the situation wouldn't hurt, right? And let me tell you - I was super happy with how these super Christmassey nails came out...
