Tried and Tested: Beauty Bay 'Sunset Horizons' and 'Book Of Magic' Palettes

I knew ever since I saw these two new palettes from Beauty Bay, I had to pick them up. After the massive success story of their collaboration palette they did with MmmMitchell (the Me, Myself and MmmMitchell Palette), I have been super intrigued by anything else Beauty Bay had to offer in the eyeshadow department. These two palettes launched not too long ago, almost one after the other but I certainly ain't complaining as not only do they look stunning, they're already getting rave reviews! Introducing, the Sunset Horizons Palette and the Book of Magic Palette! Priced at just £15 each - and with a total of 20 shadows inside each palette - they're quite the steal and so I had high hopes that they'd impress me just as much. Let's take a closer look...

The Sunset Horizons Palette is just as the name would suggest - a classic, warm-toned, sunset colour story! Packed full of reds, pinks, purples, oranges and yellows - it's just so gorgeous and always a colour scheme that I love, so I knew I'd likely get along well with this palette. There's also a good mix of mattes and shimmers and also a good range of depth with the shades, (for example, there's a matte black thrown in for good measure) so I feel like there's such a wide scope of options for looks with this palette too. I have loved every single look I've done with this palette so far - I cannot wait to create more! The formula and overall quality of this palette is just awesome. The mattes are fully pigmented, blend seamlessly, combine together so well and wear impeccably on the eyes; whilst the shimmers are super intense and reflective! They do (as I typically find with most shimmer formulas nowadays) generally need a damp brush or finger tip to get them to adhere properly to the eyes with maximum pigment and 'shimmery-ness', but that's really no issue as once you do - they are stunning. I simply use my finger to apply and if I'm doing something more 'defined' like a cut crease or halo eye - I'll use my finger to get most of the pigment down, before picking up just enough on a small definer brush to get right up the edges. Done!

Next up, we have the Book of Magic Palette! This one is full of stunning greens, blues and purples - so it's much more cool-toned. It's such a pretty, kinda unique colour scheme and I instantly knew I wanted to have it in my collection. Like the Sunset Horizons, there's a great mix of mattes and shimmers in here and the shades once again range from super light to super deep - which is always good to see! And, luckily, I found this palette to be meet up to the same, amazing standard as the Sunset Horizons. Both the mattes and shimmers performed just as brilliantly, feeling and looking the exact same high quality. It's only really the colour scheme that's the main, noticeable difference. Once again, this palette has majorly impressed me - I love it!

So, all in all - I'd definitely say I've found two new favourite palettes in these two from Beauty Bay. Affordable, great shade selection, high quality - what's not to love? I'll certainly be keeping an eye on what else Beauty Bay have to offer in the eyeshadow department in the future...
