I apologise for the lack of this style of post round these parts recently. I think I've only ever previously done one other 'Polish Pick', and that was a few months back when I first started this blog - oops. I've had a bit of a rest from the stuff recently, not for any particular reason at all, but I think time's just been slipping away from me at the moment and finding time to paint my nails has been darn hard to source out. Add to the mix the frequent times I've been having my nails all Shellaced up for various events and we've got a bit of a combination for disaster (in terms of this poor, neglected series). However, fear not as I've made a bit of a end-of-year resolution to resurrect Polish Pick and make it more of a regular occurrence round these parts. Horray for always being late to the party. So, with that little (or not so little) disclaimer out of the way, what lacquer have I been loving recently and that I am currently donning on my nails?
I introduce you to yet again another Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine, only this time it's from their new Autumn/Winter collection. This is 'Cardamom'. What a beauty. I picked this and 'Paprika' up when the new range first launched either last month or the month before that, and I have to admit when I first checked out the stand in my local Boots, I was close to be being disappointed. At first glance I could only see shades that, whilst gorgeous, I would never myself consider wearing - 'Mustard' and 'Chai' particularly. I did however manage to find two that I really loved and popped into my basket.
Cardamom is a lovely, foresty green. I think it's a really nice take on this shade for the colder months, as it has the slightly grey undertone which is apparent in many of the popular colours everyone seems to gravitate towards around this time of year. As with the majority of the Barry M Gelly line I've tried, the formula is spot on. It's not too thin or thick and I find you can get full opaqueness with two, even coats. The drying time is perfect and the brush makes it easy to control exactly where you place your polish. I doubt my love affair with this nail range will ever end.
This is a really unusual shade, I like it though! xx

It is a bit of a unusual one for me as I'm so used to bright, more girly colours, but I really like the effect it gives at this time of year! xx
