If you've been following this blog for a period of time you've probably heard me mention how much I love making a good list. I don't know why, but there's something about putting a few points together and then gradually ticking them off that just satisfies me - normal?
With that in mind what better time than to make a 'Festive List', a.k.a. all the stuff I like to do in the run up to Christmas and New Year. Some of these I've already ticked off personally, but I thought I'd share just in case you're fretting over potentially missing a key element out of your planning!
- Buy and wrap presents. Obvs.
- Buy and write cards. Obvs.
- Decorate the whole house or if not, as much of it as possible. Too much?
- Plan your outfits from top to bottom, including shoes, bags and accessories, and the makeup you want to wear over the festive period. Yes I do really do that. Surely I can't be alone?
- Watch as many Christmas films and Christmas specials of your favourite TV shows as is humanly possible.
- Have a lovely little pamper night either Christmas Eve (when I personally like to do it) or if not, as close to the big day as you can. Post coming later this month all about the ultimate pamper night...
- Fill your entire house with a ton of Christmassey food and drink and FEEL SO DARN GOOD ABOUT IT.
- If there's people you aren't perhaps seeing over Christmas and not sending presents/cards to, maybe give them a ring, text them or send them a little message on whatever social network of your choosing (so 2014).
- Buy a Christmas CD full of all your favourite tunes (heads up for the Now That's What I Call Christmas sets) and start playing it as soon as you get home/it comes through your letterbox.
- Get involved with whatever other festive frolics are going on in your area - light switch-ons, choir singing, trips to Santa's Grotto - the list is endless.
So there are a few of my top 'to-dos' over the festive period. Yes, of course I may have left out a few of the serious 'I must actually do these' things but these are just a selection of some more fun bits and bobs you may want to do by yourself or with others over Christmas and New Year.
Have you got any 'Festive To-Dos' that I could maybe borrow and add to my list?
