My Favourite Perfume #AllMonthAugust

Considering recently my latest bottle of my perfume dispersed what is sure to be one of it's final spritzes, what better time to talk you through the scent I've been loving for over a year now? Introducing, Dolce by Dolce and Gabbana...

I have a confession to make. Up until about 18 months ago, I wasn't a perfume wearer. Having recently turned 17, the only scents I'd ever really layered on up to that point were that of body sprays, which whilst were for the most part lovely and delicious-smelling, with my 18th approaching I knew I wanted to finally branch out into the scary world of eau de toilette's and be a proper grown-up woman. Ok, maybe not the second one. So one day in Boots I at last made the leap into the unknown, bought a bottle of the aforementioned and haven't looked back ever since.

Like pretty much every beauty blogger, I'm not the best at describing any sent of any kind so don't be expecting some kinda expertise behind this - I'm simply going by how it smells to me personally and with a lil' bit of help from the Interwebz so it somehow makes some kinda sense? Maybe. To me, this is the perfect perfume. It just hits that ideal medium between the two main aspects of a scent - sweet and floral. From what I can see, the main components are flowers (Neuroli leaves and Papaya flower for the top notes; White Amaryllis, White Daffodil and White Water Lily for the heart notes) and that definitely comes across in the scent, but as you can see - they're all very delicate plants and this certainly helps to 'dull down' the floral perspective of the fragrance. The base notes of Sandalwood, Musk and Cashmeran give the delicate tones a little more depth and intensity and overall you get a scent that's subtle and not at all overpowering, yet still with that hit of somethin' somethin' that makes you all like 'Yeah, I'm wearing perfume today'. If that makes any sense at all.

So, probably the least comprehensive blog post I've ever written on Dainty Ditsy, but there you have it. I suppose it had to happen sometime, eh...
