If you're as avid a wearer of glitter nail polish as I am, you'll know the pain in the backside that is the removal process. Urgh. For some reason, while shimmer-free lacquers practically slide of the beds with just a little coaxing from some remover-soaked cotton wool, glittery polishes just never seem to budge as easily. Queue lots of ferocious scrubbing, sweating and (perhaps) swearing as it usually take a good five minutes on each nail before it can be deemed free of the sparkly stuff. That was until I discovered this handy little tip from Lily Pebbles and all changed. Considering it's now December - the time we all tend to gravitate towards our sparkly polishes and load up those nails with as much glitter and shimmer as we can - what better time to share?
Once you feel the time has come to wave goodbye to those twinkly talons, you want to get together some cotton wool, tin foil and nail polish remover. Tear both the cotton wool and tin foil each into 10 equally-sized pieces - one for each nail, of course - and then you're ready to begin. Soak a piece of the cotton wool quite liberally in nail polish remover and wrap it round your finger, ensuring it covers the nail completely. Then, do the same thing but for the tin foil - layering it over the top of the cotton wool. Make sure it's wrapped round tightly and securely and you're done! Simples! Repeat the process for each nail on your first hand, and by the time you've done the last one, you should be ready to remove the first. When removing, make sure you give the wrapping a little wiggle as you take if of to make sure it get's as much as it can off. Sometimes, there can be a few specks here and there left behind, but that's easily fixed by running another bit of remover-soaked cotton wool over the nail - it should only need light pressure as the whole process even makes those stubborn flecks much less so! Then, obviously it's time to do the whole thing again but for your other hand... and then you can sit back and admire your completely clean talons that didn't take any blood, sweat or tears to de-glitter. Genius. Thanks Lily!
