Finally Making My First-Ever Trip To MAC and A GIVEAWAY! #EveryDayMay

I finally done it. Yesterday I made my first-ever trip to MAC! Am I a real beauty blogger now? Seriously though, this has been a long time coming. Around May last year (when I was approaching my 18th Birthday) I remember saying how I wanted to finally make my way into MAC and make my first purchase (or two) pretty soon, as kind of a way of marking my milestone age. In the end, for some reason or another, that never materialised, but the urge to go into MAC in the near future never really went away. I think part was due to being busy and it constantly being pushed back and back; and also partly due to my anxieties about going into a store and dealing with the whole makeup counter situation which does kinda terrify me. So, instead at the start of this year I decided to just do it and make a trip for my 19th Birthday (so, a year later) and this time I'm pleased to say I actually went in there and bought a few things. *Pats self on back*.

Aswell as that, whilst I was in there making my first-ever MAC purchases, I also decided this would be the perfect time to host my first-ever giveaway on DaintyDitsy. So, I have put together a little giveaway where you can be in with a chance of winning a MAC Lipstick of your choice! I wanted to use MAC as the brand for the prize, seeing as it ties in nicely with the theme of the haul, but I didn't want to pick out a particular product myself as I know everyone has their own preferences in regards to makeup. So, I figured the best compromise would be to simply label the prize as 'A MAC Lipstick of you choice' and whoever is lucky enough to win can inform me of their shade they would like and I will post that one out to them. I knew before I even set foot in the store that it was either lipsticks or eyeshadows (or maybe even a mixture of the two) that I'd end up leaving with. They're the products from MAC that always seem to gather the most hype and attention and are the ones which I've always been the most interested in getting behind myself too. There's every shade, finish and formula you could ask for and over the years I've certainly build up quite the list of ones I 'd like to add to my collection. In the end, on this trip I only ended up dabbling into the Lips department - but I definitely want to try a few things for those peepers at some point very soon. In total I came away with two lipsticks and also a lipliner and walked away feeling very happy with my little #FeelingSpendy moment indeed. First off, I picked up the MAC Lipstick in 'Patisserie'. Everyone and their dog raves and raves about this hue and I think it was actually the first MAC Lipstick that I ever thought about buying, so I guess it makes sense for it to be one of the first I actually parted with my cash for. This is one of the 'Lustre' finishes, so it's creamy and has a sheeny finish with the slightest hint of finely-milled shimmer (not that it's really that detectable) and it just gives the most stunning sheer wash of nude lip lovely-ness. It's got all the classic tones of any good nude lippie and I'm really pleased I plumped for this little beaut. I then opted for another lipstick and this time is one of their 'Matte' finishes in the shade 'Mehr'. This (and the next item) were definitely Lily Pebbles-inspired purchases, as I have been lusting after the combo ever since she began sporting it I think around this time last year. Not only is it a beautiful pairing, together it just looks exactly like the kind of lip colour I go for. 'Mehr' is a gorgeous pinky-mauve with a lovely brown undertone. It's matte, but still creamy and the shade is so unique to anything else I have already in my stash. I then decided to invest in the lipliner Lily stated as its ideal partner and bought myself the MAC Lipliner in 'Soar'. This was surprisingly easy to get my hands on, considering this hue has also been said to be a firm favourite of Kylie Jenner and I'll admit that this was kinda another thing that pushed me to ad it to my basket. We all know Kylie's infamous pout is more than just a bit of liner and some over-lining here and there, but I still just can't help but feel that I need 'Soar' in my life. Side by side, both the lipstick and lipliner look pretty similar in colour so fingers crossed this really will be a match made in beauty heaven.
