Last month I finally made my first purchases at NYX, after spotting a stand pop up in my local Boots - which you'd already know about if you saw this post. I was pretty well-restrained considering how enticing the set-up looked and just how much good stuff was calling out my name and in the end I came away with just a selection of lip products that I felt were the safest bet to test the water with. However, being the typical beauty fanatic I am, I was always gonna go back for more when what I did pick up really
impressed me - so I guess we can kinda call this the 'Part Two' of my NYX Haul. let's get straight on into it...
Whereas last time I was - as I said - all about hauling as many lip products as possible, this time round I had a few items for the base and eyes that I wanted to give a go and so this haul's predominately focused around those departments (aside from one sneaky exception). I firstly picked up the Dark Circle Concealer in 'Fair'. I feel like I'm forever on the hunt for the next best thing to cover and correct my under-eye bags and whilst I've sampled a fair few yellow-y concealers in the past which haven't really done much to correct anything, this range from NYX appears to offer something a little more salmon-toned. The formulation is supposedly enriched with Coconut Oil to provide a finish which is free from caking and looks more natural so fingers crossed this may just do the trick at waving bye-bye to my dark under-eyes. I also popped the Wonder Stick Highlight and Contour Stick in 'Light' into my basket. I've heard many a good thing about the contouring products NYX have on offer and of them all, I really wanted to try one of their cream formulations as I've never used anything of the sort to contour and highlight with before. I was tempted by the actual palette which has a variety of shades inside, but in the end I opted for the 'Wonderstick' as it appears a tad more user-friendly for someone who's a cream contour newbie like myself. Here, you get just one hue that's suitable for your colouring and the packaging set-up means you can in theory just draw on where you want the product and blend it out with a brush. Easy-peasy (hopefully).
Moving onto eyes and here I stuck to just one product (for now). Of all the items NYX had for the peepers, it was the Jumbo Eye Pencils which stood out to me the most. These can supposedly be used an eyeliner at the lashline or scribbled on all-over the lid as an eyeshadow (or eyeshadow base) and I think - considering the shades I picked up - I'll be utilising them for the latter task. I plumped for the shades 'Yoghurt' and 'Sparkle Nude' and I'm really pleased with my selection. The former is kind of a light pinky-purple, while the latter is more copper-toned. Both look equally stunning and I cannot wait to use them. As with all of these items, I will of course keep you lovely lot updated!
Finally, I picked up to pencils - one for the lips and one that's kind of for anything and everything. The latter item I'm talking about is the Wonder Pencil in 'Light'. I've been after a product like this for what feels like forever. I've used a nude liner in the past, but that was only for the eyes - whereas this can apparently also be used as a spot concealer and reverse lip liner. Who knew, eh? Everyone loves a good multi-tasker (myself included) - and don't fret, of course there will be some sanitising involved whenever I switch between! And last, but certainly by no means least is the slightly sneaky item which I referred to at the start of this post. As I said, I went a little crazy in the lips department during my first NYX haul and whilst I promised myself I wouldn't go near anything pout-related on this shopping spree - I'm afraid there was one item which slipped through the net. My bad. That item in question is the Slide On Lip Pencil in 'Pink Cantaloupe'. In my defence though, I'm fully justifying this purchase as I have not got a pinky-coral lip liner in my collection as it stands. With it coming up to the months where I tend to gravitate towards those kinds of hues - as soon as I saw it, I knew it had to be mine. #BeautyBloggerLogic, eh?
I got one of the Jumbo eye pencils too, I think in Leopard or something similar! I'm liking it so far :) x
