At any one time, you can bet they'll be a handful of makeup trends floating round which everyone and their Nan wants to get on board with and for a while now, the desire for full, luscious lips has certainly been one of them. Blame it on Kylie Jenner, eh? I think we all know by now that Kylie's secret is more than just lip liner - but that doesn't mean we can't attempt to recreate the look using pure cosmetic techniques. So, if you fancy knowing some of my own tips 'n' tricks, this one's for you...
OVERLINE YOU LIPS (SLIGHTLY) - Obviously, don't go too overboard with this one but a little overdrawing here and there doesn't hurt, right? Personally, I like to overline my lips only in certain areas where I'm lacking fullness and shape (mainly on my top lip) and find it to work wonders at making my pout appear far more plump than it naturally is.
CREATE LIGHT AND SHADE WITH A SELECTION OF TONES - Another way of making you lips look all juicy is actually using a range of tones in the products you use. It may sound a little far-fetched, but if you're really committed to the cause it's not actually as outrageous as you may first think. Generally, to make you lips appear as full as possible, you want them to be slightly darker at the outer corners and edges and lighter in the centre. This mimics the way light and shade would naturally appear on your lips and so looks more 'natural' than simply washing one hue all over and creates depth too.
SHAPE AND SHARPEN UP YOUR LIPS USING CONCEALER - A trick I love using if I want to really sculpt out my lips, sharpen up the edges and generally make them appear far more full is to use a concealer. Taking it on a small brush around the outline of my lips, it helps to sharpen up the edges and also correct any mistakes and mishaps along the way too. As I mentioned in this post, you could also try this technique with a nude eye pencil, giving you even greater precision and control. It's completely up to you...
USE YOUR NORMAL CONTOUR AND HIGHLIGHT PRODUCTS ON YOUR LIPS (YES, REALLY) - Another way of contouring and highlighting the lips is using you actual contour and highlight products you typically use for your face. Take some of your shimmery highlighter and dust it on the top of the cupid's bow to make it more prominent and stand out and take some of your contour hue (or even a matte bronzer) on a small brush on the very most underneath section of your bottom lip to create a shadow and so again - add to the fuller appearance.
USE DIFFERENT TEXTURES - Finally, a quick and easy way I finds to add fullness to your pout is to use a couple of different textures on your lips. if you really want that juicy effect, try using a matte lip product all over, before adding a touch of gloss to the centre of your lips to add some light and dimension. Whether you wanna go all-out with a gloss, or simply add a touch of shine with a balm - it'll make the world of difference to your lips. Done.
