It's been a while (OK, maybe not that long - but still) since I showed you lot some of the beauty bits I've been buying so, with me adding a few items to my stash recently, today I figured I'd do exactly that. It's a 'short but sweet' kinda haul with a rather more compact, but I really am excited about every single thing and maybe some of you may find some inspiration in this too...
First up, a repurchase (sort of). You may remember me going on about how much I loved the Bourjois Volume Reveal Mascara. It's a relatively new launch for the brand and having heard very good things about it, I picked it up a few months ago for the first time. And let's just say - I really, really enjoyed using it. It gave heaps of volume, length and thickness - while still separating my lashes out nicely at the same time. The effect it gives is very buildable and the formula kept my lashes all curly and in place the whole darn day with no smudging or crumbling. What more could you ask for, eh? So, with my last one nearing the end of its makeup life, I picked up another - but this time, in the 'Ultra Black'. I didn't know this mascara came in a 'Blackest of the Black'-type hue, but generally this is what I like to opt for when it comes to my mascaras as they always seem to give the most dramatic effect so I ensured I put this version in my basket this time round.
Moving onto another item which I had run completely out of and so needed a replacement for - Bronzer. However, I fancied a bit of a change in this department so took it upon myself to have a little browse and rummage through the drugstores to see what I could find. While tempted to invest in a another of my beloved Soap and Glory Solar Powder Bronzer, I managed to resist and instead opt for a different option I'd yet to try. In the end, I picked up the MUA Bronzed Perfection Matte in 'Sunset Tan'. This was a complete and utter bargain at only £4.00 and you get a pretty mahoosive sized pan that's perfect for swirling your big bronzer brush in. I deliberately opted for the Matte version as personally, I'm all about the shimmer-free formulas when it comes to bronzing. I also really like the look of the colour itself as it's not too warm, but it's not completely cool-toned either. I find those kinds of bronzers to look the most natural on the skin and work the best on my paler skin, so I'm looking forward to giving it a go.
Of course, it wouldn't be a makeup haul without a lip product (or two), the first being two shades of the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks. These have been around for a good while now and it's taken me probably just as long to actually get round to trying them out. They're essentially a liquid lipstick which applies like a lipgloss and sets to a super matte finish. I'm not exactly sure of how matte they dry down to, but hopefully they'll provide a long-lasting lip option but without being too moisture-zapping on the ol' pout. They've very recently brought out twelve new shades to the collection, but for now I picked up two of the original hues to test out and - surprise, surprise - they're both nude tones. 'Sandstorm' is a lighter, cool-toned nude; whereas 'Soft Spoken' is slightly deeper and warmer - but both are incredibly sunning shades and once again, I cannot wait to try them out.
Last up, I picked up a new lip liner from Rimmel. It's currently 3 for 2 on all Makeup at Superdrug and having picked up some items from this haul, I knew I needed something else to complete the trio and suddenly this lip pencil came into my head. I'd been after the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in 'Tiramisu' for ages now - having seen it popping up here, there and everywhere in the online world and loving the look of it - so finally, this was the time and going on first swatch, it's getting the thumbs up so far. It's actually quite different from all of the other nude, brown-toned lip liners in my collection as it has a more orangey, peachy vibe to it which I can imagine working super well with the warmer nude lippies in my stash. If all of the other lip liners from Rimmel that I've tried already are anything to go by, I've got high hopes for this one...
