Once Autumn and Winter creep in, I like to take extra care of my nails. Of course, it's super important that you care for your talons all year round, but I think it takes further prevalence in the cooler months when your beds get drier, more dehydrated and are at greater risk of damage or breakage. There's various ways in which you can fight this and take the best care of your nails, but one way that I find to be the quickest and easiest is a good treatment polish.
Of all the one's I've tried over the years, I have to say I am a big fan of the offerings from Barry M. The brand has always been a major favourite of mine in terms of nail colour, but nowadays I am just as much a lover of their nail care range too. I picked up a few bottles earlier on in the year to try out - as they were pretty new releases at the time - and even since, I have been hooked. The Super Mani 7-in-1 Treatment is an awesome all-in-one polish (as the name suggests) that you can quite literally lacquer on in one go and can be safe in the knowledge that it's doing a multitude of good to your nails. The Iron Mani Nail Hardener, on the other hand (ya geddit?) is geared more towards making your nails all strong and resistant against all the stress we put on them and act as a kind of protective shield against any potential damage. I've been using these two consistently for the past however many months and I really do believe they help my nails no end. Both leave a gorgeous shiny, healthy-looking finish to my nails and over time, I've notice such an improvement in the feel and look of them, both whilst the polish is actually on my nails and when it's off too.
During the colder months, we all try and keep our hair, skin and body as hydrated and cared for as possible - but not as often do we perhaps think about how the colder weather impacts on the condition of our nails. While there are other, more extravagant ways of keeping your hands healthy, it's always good to find a method that's perhaps a little less time-consuming and also a far less bank-breaking and these polishes are exactly that for me. If you're yet to try them, you know what to do...
