If you've been round here for some time - you'll more than likely know that I am a sucker for anything and everything rose gold. Whether it be homeware, makeup or - in this case - nails, I am all for it. This one in particular - Maybelline's Superstay 7 Day Metallic Silk in 'Rose Veil' - has actually featured in a couple of nail looks in the past, but surprisingly, never as a standalone shade and so, with it being featured on my nails all by itself for the past week or so, I figured it was about time I did exactly that...
This is basically exactly what it says on the tin - a rose gold-toned lacquer with a super smooth, metallic effect. It only takes a standard two coats to achieve full opacity and once you get there - boy is it worth it. As I said, the metallised finish is really smooth and not at all 'chunky', but the formula is somehow just that little more shimmery than your usual metallics and really catches the light and has a lot of dimension to it too. I just really like the formulation and the effect it gives and when you pair it with a colour as darn pretty as a good ol' rose gold or copper - you've got a winner of a combination. Like I mentioned, I have featured this before in a couple of other 'Polish Pick' posts as part of a overall nail look using other polishes and found it to work really well as a base so while it is super stunning alone, it's a great one to have in your stash for when you want to make completely unique effect of your own. Love, love, LOVE...
