December: The Love List #DitsyDecember

Welcome to the final 'The Love List' of 2017. A new format I introduced for the first time in January, I really cannot believe we are now at the last installment. What?! I'm pretty sure you all know the deal by now - a round-up of all of the things I've been loving that month - and obviously, we are now onto the December edition. You can catch up here with all of the previous editions of 2017 if you fancy. So, without any further ado - let's get started...

BARRY M MATTE ME UP LIQUID LIP PAINT IN 'PAPARAZZI' - This is a stunning matte liquid lipstick that's been in my collection for a while now - yet I feel has really come into its own even more so this festive month, obviously due to the festivities. I love wearing red lip all-year-round, but even more so come Christmas-time and this one has to be one of the best I've tried. I already adore the formula of these liquid lippies and combined with such a bright, vibrant red colour like this - it sure is a winning combination.

MAC RETRO MATTE LIPSTICK IN 'RUBY WOO' - Another red lip I've been loving lately - this time in the traditional lipstick bullet format - is this recent addition to my stash from MAC. I have been after picking up the infamous 'Ruby Woo' for so, so long and let me tell you. now I've bought it, I am super glad to have finally added it to my collection. A blue-based, true red in a super matte finish (even for a traditional lipstick) - it may take some time to get application spot-on, but once it's there - it looks awesome. If I haven't been wearing the above red hue on my lips this month, this has been the other one I've been reaching for...

NYX SLIM LIP PENCIL IN 'HOT RED' - But what is a good red lip without a good red lip liner to pair with it, right? I bought this colour from NYX's range earlier on in the month here in anticipation of wearing it with all of the numerous reds in my stash over the festive season and oh my, it has certainly not let me down. This liner allows me to outline (and possibly also overline) my lips, with a formula that's creamy and pigmented enough to easily apply but also waxy enough to set down and keep things in place - and in a gorgeous hot red (very apt title) colour too that matches with virtually all of the red lipsticks in my collection.

SOPH X MAKEUP REVOLUTION HIGHLIGHTER PALETTE - Another discovered makeup item that I have become obsessed with all over again is this awesome highlighter palette. I mean, I haven't really ever fully stopped using this since buying it earlier this year, but for some reason, this month it is basically the only thing I've worn on my face, highlighter-wise. Especially the shade on the top far left - it is basically the perfect light champagne gold tone for my paler skin-tone. All of them are amazing though - I even enjoy the deeper shades as eyeshadows! The powders are so creamy and smooth and apply onto the skin so intensely - yet also mesh impeccably well into the skin at the same time. For such a bargainous palette - it is so, so good - and as I said, is virtually all I've reached for this December for getting my festive glow on.

L'OREAL INFALLIBLE EYE PAINT IN 'RUDE BOY' - A completely new addition to my makeup rotation this month, I have become all kinds of obsessed with this - one of the newest shades of the L'Oreal Infallible Eye Paints. I already became a big fan of these liquid eyeshadows earlier on in the year when they first launched and I feel my love has been properly rekindled with the release of this hue in particular. We all know I am a big lover of warm, coppery tones on my eyes and this appeals to that like nothing else in the range before. A rich, orangey-toned copper, laced with shimmer and in a convenient liquid shadow format with an equally-convenient brush applicator - what's not to love? Simply apply all over the lids, blend at the edges and maybe layer over a similar toned copper powder shadow (and possibly a deeper matte in the crease and a pop of highlighter in the inner corners) and I have basically my ultimate eyeshadow look, done and dusted. Love, love, LOVE.

MAC EXTENDED PLAY MASCARA - Another MAC inclusion in this post comes in the form of an awesome mascara. I have been after picking this up for so long and I am so, so glad I did. I always struggle when it comes to lower lash mascara - I am yet to find a mascara that doesn't smudge, transfer or flake off during the day and so, having heard this was 'The One' when it comes a lower lash mascara that does not do any of that - I just had to try it out. And, as I said, I am super pleased I listened up. Not only does this stuff work awesomely at lengthening my lower lashes and just making them look rather good indeed - they also stay that way all. day. long. It may be slightly pricier, but I am more than happy to pay the price for a finish that doesn't budge throughout the day.

MAKEUP REVOLUTION ROSE GOLD LIPSTICK IN 'CHAUFFEUR' - Back onto Lips - a nude option this time. As I mentioned, for the majority of the December, I am all for rockin' a red lip - but for those times when a neutral pout was more what I wanted to go for, this has been my go-to. The lovely Soph (of 'SophDoesNails') kept going on and on about how amazing it was and having seen her wear it in videos/photos a fair few times too - finally earlier this month I caved and picked it up - and I have loved it ever since. She is very similar in skin-tone to myself and so I was fairly hopeful it would be a pretty good nude lip for me and thankfully, it certainly is. A brown-based neutral that's not too dark, nor too light and in a super-creamy, moisturising finish that's uber-comfortable and easy to wear finish - I love, love, love it. And it's only £3 too! Bargain.

REAL TECHNIQUES BLUSH BRUSH - Finally - a tool I have been loving all over again this month. I already adore this brush from Real Techniques - it's perhaps one of my favourite, favourite styles they offer - but having repurchased a brand new one at the start of the month, I have fell in love all over again. My old one was well in need of a replacement (it's been well loved over the years) and though it still worked perfectly fine, I think it's only after buying a brand new version that I realise how awesome it really is. A large, rounded brush that's super fluffy, but also nicely tapered - I actually adore this for bronzer. It just deposits colour like a dream and blends things out just enough, whilst hugging the cheekbones, jawline and temples super nicely - for a subtly-sculpted, whilst also very soft finish of colour - which is basically what I want from my bronzer. Some warmth, some shape (whether used alongside contouring or not) but still very soft at the same time. Which is also what this brush is - super-duper soft!

BARRY M NAIL PAINT IN 'MAJESTIC SPARKLE' AND BARRY M MOLTEN METAL NAIL PAINT IN 'PURPLE FROST' - Finally, two awesome nail lacquers that I've been loving this past month. 'Purple Frost', a recent addition to their 'Molten Metals' Nail Paint range, is such a stunning purple and silver metallic glitter that looks amazing worn alone (as I did here earlier on in December), whilst 'Majestic Sparkle' is a wonderful warm, golden glitter topcoat situation, perfect for layering up over similar toned 'cream' polishes for an added dose of sparkle. The latter I have especially gotten tonnes of use out of this month, as it is such an ideal festive-tinged glitter lacquer, with it being predominately golden-based. I even used it for my all-important 'Christmas Day' Nails (which you can check out here if you fancy). It must be a good'un...
