I mean, we all know by now that Highlighter is by far one of, if not my favourite stage of makeup. I love a good glow-giver and never really need any form of excuse to basically slather myself in it, but of course, once Spring/Summer rolls around I'm even more in the mood to get my glow on so why not share with you all my current favourite highlighters that I cannot wait to bathe in these next few months? I mean, I could happily list of a good ten hundred or so by this point, but somehow I've managed to whittle things down to a slightly-more-respectable five. Let's jump right on in...
NYX AWAY WE GLOW LIQUID HIGHLIGHTER IN 'CRYSTAL GLARE' - Starting off with creams/liquids because I do find myself generally reaching a heck of a lot more for those types of textures in the warmer months. They just work super well with the slightly lighter makeup that I like to do around this time of year (well, at least some of the time) and give such a 'natural'-ish type glow in a pretty quick and easy way too. In my latest 'Shop My Stash' post (which you can find here if you fancy a look) I picked this out as something I really wanted to get better use out of, as in recent months it had gone a little neglected in my stash - and that is exactly because it was my go-to highlighter last Summer. Since that post, I've given it a go once again and you know what? I've fallen back in love all over again. I just know this will become my favourite in the next few months. A super creamy formula that deposits such a gorgeous light champagne sheen to the skin and can be equally left alone, or used as a glowy base for something else...
COLLECTION SPEEDY HIGHLIGHTER STICK IN 'PEARL SHEEN' - Another cream favourite - this time, in a handy stick - that I love, especially in the Summer months is this oldie, but goldie from Collection. I say 'oldie', as it's been hanging around in my stash for a couple of years now but I still love is just the same as I did before. Though housed in a the type of twist-up stick format that usually I do not love the formula of (they generally tend to be a little more dry and more difficult to use), somehow, this one is uber-creamy, easy to apply and blend and gives such a lovely sheen, once again, in a classic, light champagne-gold hue.
TANYA BURR COSMETICS ILLUMINATING POWDER IN 'CHAMPAGNE SORBET' - Moving onto powder highlighters - my all-time favourite texture and probably most used of all, whether alone or as a topper to the likes of those mentioned above - and starting with the most universal one of them all. We all know how much of a fan I am of Tanya's range and this highlighter has fast become one of my top products. The champagne (as you might have guessed) colour is perfect for my paler skin-tone but overall, the thing which I really love the most about this is the formula. It's a powder product, but gives such a smooth sheen that it also looks 'wet' on the skin - giving the finish I'd typically more expect from the likes of cream or liquid highlighters and generally the sort of glow I like to go for during the warmer months. It's so glowy, but not at all chunky and glittery on the skin and considering it's such a super-affordable product, you really cannot go wrong.
L'OREAL CRUSHED FOIL METALLIC HIGHLIGHTER IN 'ROSE QUARTZ' - Finally, we have two, slightly more colourful glow-givers. I say 'colourful', they are obviously still very much in-keeping with the types of colours that work on my skin-tone as highlighters, but it's more a case of them having a slightly more colourful shift to them - in this case, a pretty pinky undertone. If I ever like to have a little more colour in my glow, I tend to opt for the rosey tones - and that's exactly what this one has. This one only got released earlier this year and after a good o' hunt finally made its way into my stash (after hearing so many people raving about it) and it has fast become a favourite of mine - and one I really feel will continue to be so these next few months. The warm, light rose gold hue just screams 'Summer', right?
NYX DUO CHROMATIC ILLUMINATING POWDER IN 'SNOW ROSE' - Last, but certainly by no mean least we have another goodie from NYX. The colour of this has the same kind of pink undertone, but it's a little more cool and icy in tone (as the name suggests) and so pops even more so on my skin. As the range implies, this has such a gorgeous duo chrome-type finish which looks slightly different in varying lights, with varying colours picking up which makes for such a stunning, multi-tonal glow that really does call out to be slathered everywhere in the warmer months. This is another highlighter that I remember really enjoying this around this time last year, when Summer was on its way and has also admittedly been rather neglected recently, so I just cannot wait to get it back out again to get my glow on. Oh yeahhhh....

And there we have it - five of my favourite highlighters, of various textures and set-up's - that I've either loved in the past Summers, or simply cannot wait to get use out of this year now the weather has finally begun warming up. Do you have any particular glow-givers that you find yourself reaching for once Spring/Summer rolls around? If so, let me know, I'd love to discover more...
