It's been a while since I've done a 'Polish Pick' (OK, maybe not that long) and seeing as this week, I experimented and tried out a little something new, I thought I better share the finished result with you all...
I really wanted to create something super sparkly, eye-catching and centring around the holographic theme and typically, with holographic polishes, you can pull out different flecks depending on what you pair with it - as they have so many different colours and tones running throughout. So, this time round - I decided to go for green - and to do this, I started things off with a layer of the Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in 'Matcha'. A gorgeous khaki green that's a really classic Autumnal-type shade, I thought it was about time I gave it a little twist and so, I decided to finish things off with a couple of coats of the Barry M Molten Metal Nail Paint in 'Holographic Lights'. As the name suggests, this is a true holographic polish - super shimmery and metallic (just like all of the Molten Metal Nail Paints) and with every colour under the rainbow running through it, especially when it catches the light! This colour just looks gorgeous when the light hits it and as I imagined when I first thought of this look, paired over the top of 'Matcha', it really pulls out the green tones in particular. I find two coats of the holographic lacquer to work best to really ensure a fully opaque finish - but that still lets the base colour shine through - and as always, I finish things off with a to coat to really seal the deal and make things super-shiny (though admittedly, the Barry M polishes always leave behind a really glossy finish anyway). And it's all done! I really love this look, I think I might have to try paring 'Holographic Lights' with different base colours more often...
