I'm saying 'hate' as I know it's a pretty strong word and honestly, I wouldn't necessarily say I hate these things about driving, I just really don't like them! If you get what I mean. Basically, I've been driving properly for over a year now (I passed my test over three years ago, but have only had a car/been driving for just over one year) and whilst I overall really love it and love my car too, I thought it was about time I shared with you all just some of the things that I don't enjoy as much about being behind the driving seat...
- People who drive up your bum. Seriously, the most annoying thing, ever. I'm doing the speed limit and driving right up behind me will not make me go any faster.
- People who don't indicate! You know, that stick on the left-hand side of your steering wheel? You flick it up or down when going left or right and it helps notify other people where you're going! Also, indicating at the very last minute doesn't count either...
- Parking. Generally, I don't mind it at all but sometimes it's definitely a little stressful! Trying to find a space, dodging all the pedestrians and cars who don't seem to look where they're going and then usually when you finally do find a space, you've probably got someone waiting right up behind you putting you under pressure! And then, of course, that'll be when all of your parking skills you have (which already isn't a lot) completely loose you and you take an embarrassing amount of time to get into your space. Yay!
- People who pull out on you. Like, right at the very last moment. You're basically almost past them, you've seen them sitting at the top of the junction for a while and then, suddenly, they decide it's the perfect moment to pull out right at the last second. Perfect!
- Mini roundabouts. Trying to concentrate on navigating them, whilst also being careful of everyone who doesn't seem to know the right of way and when they should/shouldn't be going is a bit of a challenge sometimes!
- When you do your good driving deed of the day and it backfires on you. By this, I mean you let one person go and they either don't say thanks (so irritating!), or everyone behind them decides to go too and before you know it, you're letting the entirety of your town past and you're questioning all of your life choices...
