I don't think it's any secret how much I love buying and trying new eyeshadow palettes and these three had been sat in my 'New Makeup I Need To Test Out' Drawer for way too long. I bought them a few months back now and through having various other makeup items to try already stacked up and then my BPerfect Carnival Palette jumping the queue as soon as I very luckily received it for my Birthday in May, it's only these past couple of weeks that I've gotten round to it. However, let's just say that they were more than worth the wait...
I love the Reloaded Palettes from Revolution. I've tried and own so many and they're all pretty damn good. They're only £4 each (bargain, right?!), come with a grand total of 15 shades per colourway and for such an affordable price-point - the quality and colour schemes available are rather great. So, whenever they drop a selection of new ones, I always have to check them out and see what they're all about. And last time they did that, back around the earlier portion of the year, there were three out of four that caught my attention - and eventually, made their way into my basket. As I said, finally these past few weeks I've been cracking into them, trying and testing them out and now, I feel I can give you all my thoughts.
As you may be able to see by the title of this post, I really love these palettes! Just like pretty much all of the previous Reloaded Palettes I've bought and tried, they're so, so good. First up, we have 'Red Alert'. A gorgeous selection of warm tones - but slightly different to anything else I've seen before from that kind of colour family and certainly anything else I've got already in my personal collection. Yes, really. In here you've got your standard warm browns and bronzes, but you've also got pops of pink, coral, peach, purple and of course - red! There's even a matte white and a interesting grey-taupe colour thrown in for good measure too. Basically, this is a very intriguing colour story and so far, I have been loving this palette! You can go kinda more 'neutral' or more colourful - all with a more warm-toned finish. I've created so many different looks with it already and I can't wait to experiment even more.
Then we have 'Hypnotic' - the most neutral palette of the three! I knew I wanted to pick up this colour story as I instantly recognised it as a dupe of the ABH Sultry Palette. Like, it's got basically the identical colour scheme except, of course, it's a fraction of the price of the ABH offering. Of course, I was dubious as to how good the quality could compare. Though I've never personally tried ABH Sultry, I have heard and seen a lot of amazing things about it, so I was hopeful this Revolution dupe could perhaps emulate it a little. And, so far, I'd say it's done a pretty good job! Like I said, in here you've got a very neutral colour scheme. It's quite 'neutral' in tone too, with a mix of both warm and cool tones thrown in. You've got an array of shimmers - from golds to bronzes to taupes and silvers and even a couple of rosey tones too. And not only that, you've also got a selection of mattes to pair them all with aswell! You've got your staple matte cream and matte black and a nice selection of matte browns - in varying depths and undertones - all of which are always great for any neutral eye look. But, perhaps the most exciting addition of this whole colour scheme is the bright pop of coral slap-bang in the middle. Like ABH Sultry, it's definitely the most eye-catching element of the entire palette and I instantly couldn't wait to play around with it, along with all of the other super-pretty colours in here.
Finally, we come to the last, but definitely not least palette of this round-up - 'Deep Dive'! And, in complete contrast to the above palette, this one is certainly the most colourful, bright, bold, 'in yer face' palette of them all. As the name of it may suggest, this is a palette made up entirely of blues and greens - and as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to pick it up. I've really been getting into wearing blues and greens on my eyes over the last year or so and for £4, this palette was difficult to pass up in terms of being another opportunity to play around with these tones. It's rather rare for Revolution to do an entire palette based on one main colour or tone - especially with colourful shades - so for this palette to contain no real neutrals and just be through and through blue and green (aside from the one gold shimmer) was pretty exciting and so far, I'm really liking it! There's a good mix of mattes and shimmers and a really nice selection of shades in here - which is even more essential when dealing with brighter and bolder eyeshadows, in my opinion. And, like I've said for the other two palettes, the quality is really good too! Especially considering we're dealing with blues and greens here - colours which can be tricky to nail in terms of formula - and it's a pretty cheap palette too, you really can't complain with this offering right here. These colours really apply and blend nicely and combine together to create such gorgeous, aqua-inspired looks. The shimmers take a little bit of building up to get them to that intense, foiled-like finish but when you get them there, they're super-stunning. If you're a lover of your blues and greens or perhaps want to experiment more with that colour family and don't want to break the bank (at least to start off with) - this palette would be an awesome one to pick up!
