My Favourite Drugstore Setting Spray?

It's well-known round these parts that in terms of setting spray - it's all about the Urban Decay All Nighter for me personally. It's a higher-end/luxury item but in my opinion, it's more than worth it. I'd always heard so many amazing things about it being the best setting spray ever and after finally giving it a go a few years back, it's safe to say I came to realise what all the fuss was about. It really is awesome - with its fine mist that delicately, yet efficiently locks your makeup into place all day or night long. And oh boy, does it really set things down. I always find my makeup to wear impeccably whenever I use this, so much so that by the end of the day/night, my makeup looks almost exactly as I first applied it. Seriously, it's that good. However, I have always been up for trying drugstore/affordable alternatives to see how well they compare (and just generally for using instead of my All Nighter as and when I can so a bottle of it lasts a little longer) and though there's none that I would say level or better my beloved All Nighter, this one by Barry M is possibly the closest one has ever come to it...

This is their Dewy Finish Setting Spray and as I've just said, I really like it. Yes, the bottle is a little on the small side, but the price is so much lower than my All Nighter that it's difficult to really mind at all. It's so easy and low-cost to repurchase and replenish, yanno? I also really like the mist on this setting spray too. Though I wouldn't say it's as fine and delicate as the Urban Decay offering, it's still quite smooth and soft and certainly doesn't feel like it's assaulting your face whenever you apply it (like some more affordable/drugstore setting sprays can) - so that's all pretty good, right? As for the formula, as the name suggests - this setting spray has a dewy finish - and I'd certainly agree with that. It doesn't have any noticeable shimmer or glitter in the formula (thank goodness), it just somehow gives the skin a nice, healthy, radiant look - especially after applying makeup, when you skin can sometimes have a bit of a 'powdery' finish to it. Don't worry though, it's not too dewy either! Basically, for someone like me - who has normal/dry skin and likes a dewy look - this is ideal for me, but I do know they have a matte effect setting spray too, so if you're more oily-skinned or like to keep things matte, perhaps you could check out that version instead! So far, so good. But, of course - the main premise of a setting spray is to lock your makeup into place - and I'd say this one does a fairly good job of doing that. Like I've said a few times in this post as for how it compares to the All Nighter, I'd still say the Urban Decay offering is the ultimate in long-wear, but the Barry M still does pretty well nevertheless! Finally, the Barry M is actually also alcohol-free. As I've said before recently, I have been looking at moving more towards those types of setting sprays eventually. The All Nighter is unfortunately not alcohol-free, so I am looking for another high-end/expensive alternative that works just as well, whilst also being alcohol free, but in terms of something more affordable/drugstore - I think I've found something in this one from Barry M! All in all, if you're after a good drugstore/affordable setting spray - check the Barry M Dewy Finish out...
