It's the beginning of July (how?!) and so I figured I'd bring back a post format that I tried out for the first time around the same time a couple of years ago and brought back in the July of last year too. You know how at the end of the year I like to do one big ramble about all my beauty favourites from the past twelve months? Well, think of that - but halfway through the year. Today, I'm talking you lovely lot through all my top, new products I've discovered and have been loving in the first half of 2016. So, let's get straight on into it...
REVOLUTION CUT CREASE CANVAS IN 'ILLUSTRATE' - Starting off with makeup and first of all, with the Eyes - we have this new favourite 'base' of mine! I've really been appreciating a good cut crease/halo eye this year possibly even more so than before and I partly feel that's down to me discovering this product from Revolution. I do like using ordinary concealer or my P.Louise Base for cutting my crease but this base has possibly become my favourite, favourite in that category. This light beige shade is a perfect tone for me (they do other colours which work for deeper skin-tones too, which is awesome) and the formula is just spot-on! Thick enough to control, thin enough to glide across the lid easily. It creates such crisp definition in a matter of seconds and it's slight tackiness left behind makes for such a great base for whatever you choose to apply over the top. Shimmers apply with ease, cling well and really do 'pop' on the lid! ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
B PERFECT X STACEY-MARIE CARNIVAL PALETTE - I mean, I just had to throw this one in here - right? Ever since very luckily getting this palette for my Birthday back in May, I have been obsessed! My first more expensive/high-end eyeshadow palette and oh my, am I so super-happy with it! Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of more affordable palettes in my collection that are great - but there's definitely just something extra special about this one. The mattes are really rich and fully opaque in pigment and are also so creamy and practically blend themselves, the shimmers are super intense and foiled-like on the lid without even the need for a wet brush or finger tip to apply. I love the bright, bold, rainbow colour scheme too - there's basically every colour you could ever need! I do really like how there's also a couple of more neutral shades thrown in aswell though, to make this palette even more versatile. Basically, if you haven't guessed already - I love this palette and in my opinion, it was more than worth the higher price-tag. I can't wait to keep coming up with more looks using it! ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
LOTTIE LONDON X THUYLE 'LIVING MY BEST LIFE' PALETTE - Another eyeshadow palette I discovered earlier on in the year and has been a firm favourite of mine ever since is this one right here from Lottie London! This is definitely a much more affordable option and it's also a slightly more compact palette too, comprised of just 14 shades - but I love it! On the bottom row you've got all your shimmers - ranging from your more 'neutral' golds and pinks to your bright, colourful greens and blues - and then, on the top row you've got all your mattes - which are all varying neutral tones and as a result, all pair well with any of the shimmery shades above! There really are so many options in this palette - whether you want to go more neutral or more colourful - and the quality, for a such a cheap palette, is pretty amazing too! The mattes are really creamy, have minimal fall-out, blend out well and have really good pigment; whilst the shimmers are so intense and shimmery too! They really don't require too much building up at all to get them to the foiled-like finish I like and I find them to apply rather easily without needing a finger or dampened brush too. All in all, this palette is a bargain and a good'un too! ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
BEAUTY BAY EYN FIERY 9 COLOUR PALETTE - I promise this is the last eyeshadow palette of this post, but yet another one that I've found in the first half of 2019 and have been enjoying is this one right here! I have been dying to try the Beauty Bay eyeshadows for so long (basically ever since they first released their range last year) and finally I have! I've accumulated enough TRIBE points on my Beauty Bay loyalty account to claim one of their mini, 9 pan palettes - for free! So, naturally, I jumped at the chance and seeing as it was around my Birthday and a lot of my recent points had come from my Parents present, I decided to throw it in as one of my presents too! So, not only did it immediately have that kinda sentimental value to it - I really love what's inside it too! This palette, as I said, only contains 9 shades but you actually get a lot of versatility in here at the same time. There's a nice balance of mattes and shimmers and as the 'Fiery' tag may suggest - they're all varying warm tone neutrals too! I thought I'd go back to basics and good old warm tones with this palette and though it's nothing 'new' in terms of the makeup industry or my personal collection - it's so, so good! The mattes are well-pigmented and blend pretty easily and the shimmers are also pretty foiled-like too! For such a small palette, I've actually been able to create a lot of looks from it so far and I can't wait to get even more use out of it... ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
TECHNIC THE GLITZ LIQUID GLITTER EYESHADOW IN 'GOLD' - It's no secret by this point that I love liquid glitters. The easy, quick, pretty simple way to add glitter to your eye look and instantly transform it without the often mess and fuss of loose glitters or pigments! I've tried and love so many - from the OG, expensive Stila ones to many cheaper, but still very awesome alternatives - and this range from Technic caught my eye when shopping on my Birthday back in May. I'd heard so many amazing things about how comparable they are to the likes of the Stila Glitter and Glows, so when I finally saw them in real-life, I jumped at the chance to give them a go. I decided to plump for the classic, yellow-gold shade first as it was the shade I liked the look of the most and so far - I really love it! I simply take some off the doe foot applicator on a flat brush and gently pat it over my eyeshadow wherever I want it to be, leave it to dry for a little while and it's good to go. It's so intense and pigmented and instantly upgrades any eye look, making it look so much more glam and like you've put in much more effort than you really have. It dries pretty quickly, feels so comfortable and lightweight on the lids and I find lasts pretty impeccably all day or night long too. There's no glitter fall-down onto my face, no crumbling and, most importantly - it doesn't crease or crack on the lid either! Plus, this colour is just gorgeous and so versatile too! I might have to try the other shades... ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
L'OREAL INFALLIBLE 24HR FRESHWEAR FOUNDATION IN 'PORCELAIN' - Moving onto all things Face - this foundation has been a firm favourite of mine throughout the first half of 2019. I discovered it pretty early on this year and ever since, it's been one of my go-to foundations. This is the perfect light-medium coverage base which you can sheer our or dial up slightly as you wish and it looks pretty lovely on the skin too. It won't go up to anything more than a solid 'medium', coverage-wise, but as I said before, it is buildable. Basically, over the past few months, if I don't want a full coverage foundation but I still want one with at least some kind of coverage to it - I'll reach for this one right here. Or, even if I want a lighter base, I'll just sheer it out a little more! It blends into so easily and sits on the skin so nicely aswell. It's very skin-like in finish - not too dewy, nor too matte - and lasts really well too. All in all, a good, solid, drugstore foundation! ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
WET N WILD MEGAGLO HIGHLIGHTER IN 'BLOOM TIME' - It's highlighter time! And, naturally, I have three to talk about in this post. What can I say? I clearly love discovering a good glow! And this first one is so, so cheap - but so, so good at the same time! I think you all know already that I love the Wet 'n' Wild MegaGlo Highlighters. The shade 'Blossom Glow' - an icy, light pink tone - is so gorgeous and so glowy too. So, when the shade 'Bloom Time' finally made its way to the UK not too long ago, I had to try it out - and I love it! A super-pretty, rose gold shade that whilst slightly deeper than 'Blossom Glow', is still light enough for my paler skin-tone and with the same, super-glowy, but also very smooth and non-glittery formula that I already know and love. Yay! ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
OFRA HIGHLIGHTER IN 'GLAZED DONUT' - The second highlighter that I just have to speak about - which is definitely much more expensive, but so good - is this offering from OFRA! Again, this was another birthday present from my Parents that I picked out to try and have been pretty obsessed with ever since. I have so many affordable highlighters that I really adore, but there's definitely something extra special about this one right here. Not only is it super-blinding and and just generally very, very glowy - it's so finely-milled and smooth at the same time. There's no chunky glitter or even apparent shimmer in there and honestly, it almost looks like you've applied nothing at all, until you catch the light and wowsers, you get the most intense glow ever. This pale, icy champagne is also the perfect kind of shade for my paler skin-tone too so all in all, I'd say this more expensive highlighter was most definitely worth the money! ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
OBSESSION MEGA LIGHTENING HIGHLIGHTER - Last, but certainly by no means least in the highlighter category - we're back onto the more affordable side of things with this one from Obsession. A sister brand of Revolution, I usually expect pretty good things from their products and this highlighter is definitely no exception on that front. After hearing so many good things about this range of glows, I had to give one a go and 'Mega Lightning' - the pale, white-gold in the collection - instantly screamed my name. And you know what? I'm so happy I tried it out as it's fast become one of my new favourite highlighters that I've tried in a long, long time! Again, this kind of colour is just ideal for my preferences and skin-tone - but what's perhaps even more perfect is the formula. This is such a smooth, creamy highlighter in terms of texture. It virtually glides onto the skin with little to no effort at all, meshing into the skin so nicely and it's also so intensely pigmented too. It deposits such a blinding glow with hardly any product at all, but because the formula is so smooth, doesn't look overly glittery or shimmery. Plus, it's only £3 too. Bargain! ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
I HEART REVOLUTION CHOCOLATE LIPGLOSS IN 'SALTED CARAMEL' - Moving onto Lips, I guess I've kinda become a bit of a lipgloss convert during the first half of 2019 as I have one new favourite right here! I'm not usually a fan of lipglosses (for the most part, I much prefer matte liquid lipsticks or lipsticks in general) but for some reason, after hearing so many good reviews about this range from I Heart Revolution - and this shade in particular - I felt compelled to give it a try. And I'm pretty pleased I did as I think I've finally found a lipgloss that I really love! Not only is the formula of this so lovely - really shiny, not at all sticky, comfortable to wear and feels hydrating on the lips - the colour of this shade, 'Salted Caramel', is just spot-on. It's like the perfect light-to-mid-toned, pink-y, brown-ey, beige-y nude for me. Kinda like MLLBB, yanno? Plus, if that wasn't enough, it actually smells like salted caramel and there is no doubt in my mind that if blindfolded, I would be highly tempted to eat it. Mmhmmm... ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
REVOLUTION MATTE LIP LIQUID LIPSTICKS - Revolution finally properly jumped on the matte liquid lipstick bandwagon earlier this year and naturally, I had to give their formula a try. And you know what? So far, I really like it! You get a lot of products come out on the flat doe foot applicator - so you definitely have to be careful when applying - but aside from that, I love them. They glide onto the lips really glossy and creamy, but soon dry down to a fully, powdery matte finish (which we all know by now is kinda my personal preference when it comes to liquid lipsticks). They're completely transfer-proof, which is great and I find them to really stand the test of time too. Apart from some minor touch-ups needed in the very centre of the lips through eating and drinking (as is usual for most matte liquid lips), they stay looking virtually as applied throughout the whole day or night! I've already collected a decent amount of colours so far and let's just say, I've got a lot of favourites... ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
JEFFREE STAR COSMETICS VELOUR LIQUID LIPSTICK IN 'PROM NIGHT' - Another Birthday present that I picked out and have been so, so happy I did is this matte liquid lip from Jeffree Star Cosmetics! As you may know, I already have a couple of his Velour Liquid Lipsticks in my collection - both nude, neutral shades - and let's just say, love them. They dry down to a fully-matte finish, feel very comfortable to wear, don't look or feel too dry on the lips and last and last all day or night long. So, when picking out options for my Parents, eventually I thought about choosing another shade from the pretty-extensive range to give a go. And after spotting a photo on Instagram of Perrie from Little Mix rocking this exact colour - I knew this shade had to be the one I went for. A super-bright, hot pink that's got this lovely, warm undertone that makes it so flattering and easy to wear - what's not to love? It's also got the exact same, awesome formula, so it's a definite winner in my eyes. I've worn it a handful of times already with a really simply eye, or maybe just mascara/mascara and liner and love the way it just pulls a look together. It's also perfect for Spring/Summer - so I can't wait to get even more use out of it over the next few months!
SOSU DELUXE LASHES IN 'HOLLY' - I found another new favourite false lash style this first half of 2019 - and again, it's from the SoSu x Primark Range! You may remember I discovered the 'Dubai' Lashes from the 'Glam' Range late last year - and they remain a firm favourite of mine to this day - but lately, the 'Holly' Lashes from the 'Deluxe' Collection have been my go-to. They're kinda similar to the 'Dubai' - which is probably exactly why I love them - but they're just a little shorter on the inner corners and so, give the eyes a slightly more winged-out, feline effect. They're so fluffy and 3D and give that lovely, mink effect - but they're obviously faux mink, which is always great! Used with my fave lash glue, they stay put on my eyes all night long. ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
BEAUTY BAY ROSE GOLD BRUSHES - I've got some new favourite brushes - specifically, eye brushes - that I found in the former half of 2019! As soon as I saw Beauty Bay had launched a range of single brushes - and that they are so damn affordable - I knew I had to give a few a try. And in short, I'm kinda obsessed with them. As I said, they're so cheap and affordable - but they're so good at the same time! They do their job well, wash up well and are still looking brand new - despite all of the use I've got out of them so far! Definitely check the out if you're after some new good eye brushes... ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
BARRY M MOLTEN METAL NAILS PAINTS IN 'FUCHSIA KISS' AND 'PEACHY FEELS' - Moving onto Nails, these two new additions to the Molten Metals Range by Barry M have become firm favourites in my collection, ever since purchasing earlier this year. You all know by now that I love this metallic, shimmery collection of polishes. I own so many, use them all the time and love them - a lot. And these two newer shades are definitely no exception. The former is a stunning fuchsia pink with silvery flecks running through; whilst the latter is a gorgeous peach with a kind of greeney-gold undertone. Both lovely shade - whether worn alone or as a base for other lacquer to be applied on top - and I can't wait to get even more use out of them! ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE AND HERE.
BARRY M GELLY NAIL PAINTS IN 'BANANA SPLIT' AND 'PINK GRAPEFRUIT' - Another two new fave nail polishes - also from Barry M - come from yet another of my go-to ranges of theirs, the Gelly Nail Paints! This is an old, but classic collection and still to this day, I love them. When I saw they were releasing their annual Summer Range and saw two colours that caught my attention - I knew I had to pick them up - and let's just say, I'm certainly not disappointed. 'Banana Split' is the most gorgeous, true, bright yellow; whilst 'Pink Grapefruit' is your classic, peachy, pinky coral tone which I always love to wear on my nails - especially in the Summer. Both great quality, gorgeous shades and great for this time of year! ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE AND HERE.
BARRY M GLAZE TOP COAT IN 'FORTUNE TELLER' - The final nail-related inclusion for this post - I promise - is this gorgeous, glittery topcoat right here! I love a good shimmery, glittery top coat to add a little something extra and different to a nail look - especially when using just a simple creme formula like the two colours I mentioned above - and this one has fast become a new go-to of mine. It's got almost shredded flecks that deposit almost like confetti-like finish to the nails. They're iridescent, kinda holographic and catch the light like a dream. Love! ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
AUSSIE 3 MINUTE MIRACLE SCENT-SATIONAL SMOOTH DEEP TREATMENT - Haircare-wise, I have a kinda new-but-old favourite. It's no secret that I love the original Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner. It's an oldie, but a goodie and I love it - especially over the years as I've got progressively blonder and more dyed/processed hair. I also used heat on my hair a lot and so, I always do my best to maintain the condition and keep my hair shiny, soft and supple - and this product has been one of my current favourites for doing just that! I love doing a deep conditioning treatment to keep my hair in tip-top shape and this is just ideal for that. Like the original, it works so well on my hair when applied and left for ages to work its magic - but I think this version has an even nicer, yummy scent! What's not to love? ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
GHOST DEEP NIGHT EAU DE TOILETTE - Finally, last but certainly by no means least - we have a new favourite perfume of mine. I was eager to try something new and different after using up my usual Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I really do adore that perfume and would happily go back to it time and time again, but I was keen to give a new scent a whirl and this one caught my attention. I remember hearing a lot of rave reviews about this a while back, so picked it up - and I really love it! It's kinda similar to Daisy in that it's got that musky, deep base to it, but it's less floral and a little more sweet and vanilla-based - without being too sweet, if you know what I mean! I think I'll be sticking with this one for the foreseeable - possibly a new favourite, signature scent for me!
And this first one is so, so cheap - but so, so good at the same time! I think you all know already that I love the Wet 'n' Wild MegaGlo Highlighters.
ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
