New Drugstore Makeup Favourites...

Recently, I've been trying out a handful of new makeup products. I know, as always. I love testing out new makeup - whether that be new to the market, or simply new to me - and the last couple of weeks I've been doing exactly that! And now I've had a good amount of time to thoroughly give them all a go and gather my thoughts, I definitely have a handful of favourites. So, I thought it was about time I shared them with you all today...

L'OREAL INFALLIBLE 24HR FRESHWEAR FOUNDATION IN 'PORCELAIN' - I really like this stuff. It blends out like a dream, feels so lightweight on the skin, yet offers a nice medium, buildable coverage at the same time. It's definitely not full-full coverage like my last foundation find - Revolution's Conceal and Define - but it's certainly a strong medium, with slightly more coverage than something like my old classic holy grail, Bourjois' Healthy Mix. This L'Oreal Freshwear is more a strong medium and can easily be layered up to a high medium, low full kinda situation, depending on how you want it. It sits so nicely on the skin and as I said, almost feels like nothing at all and I love how smooth and poreless it makes my skin appear. I'd say it's neither overly dewy, nor matte - it just kinda sits somewhere in the middle - with just a nice, skin-like appearance and once applied and set into place, I've found it to wear almost impeccably throughout the day/night with no issues at all. Basically, I think I've found yet another awesome, new drugstore foundation!

ELF CAMO CONCEALER IN 'LIGHT SAND' - This was another highly hyped-up product as of late that I'd heard and seen so many good things about and in the end, just had to give a go for myself. I've actually never really tried anything from ELF before, but I just had to give this concealer a whirl. A supposed dupe for the infamous Tarte Shape Tape (which I haven't personally tried, but have heard very good things about) and so far, even though I haven't given Shape Tape a go myself, I can defintely see where they're coming from. From the large doe foot, to the thick consistency and the full coverage finish. It's kind of similar to my holy grail Revolution Conceal and Define (also a supposed dupe for the Shape Tape), but just with a little more of a matte effect. However, so far I'm yet to notice any issues with it. Though it does dry down more and is less hydrating and satin-like, it doesn't make my skin (particularly my under-eyes) look or feel dry or cakey in anyway. It blends out easily, doesn't crease or move throughout the day once set or 'baked' into place and keeps its full coverage finish impeccably too. I feel this may be a new concealer go-to of mine...

OBSESSION MEGA CONCEALER IN '03' - Another new concealer that I picked up not too long ago and have finally got round to giving a try recently is this one from Obsession! Like the ELF offering, as soon as I saw this new drop from the brand, I knew I had to give it a go. As my beloved Conceal and Define Concealer is such a staple of mine, it takes a lot for me to stray - unless it's a similar super-affordable price point for a similar amount of product with a very comparable formula - and you really can't get more comparable than this one, in my opinion. Obsession is a 'sister brand' of Revolution, so my thinking was that this concealer would be near-identical to Conceal and Define, right? Well, I definitely think they're pretty close. The doe-foot on this one from Obsession is more rounded and the formula is a little less thick, but the coverage, blendability and lasting power is almost identical, in my opinion. Whilst the ELF is more matte than Conceal and Define, I'd say this one from Obsession is almost at the other end of the spectrum, being slightly more hydrating - so I guess it all comes down to personal preference and skin type as to which one/s you may prefer. I really enjoy and can easily use all of them - which is great - and I'd highly recommend them!

REVOLUTION RELOADED HIGHLIGHTERS IN 'SET THE TONE' AND 'JUST MY TYPE' - You just know when there's new highlighters on the market that I'm likely to give them a try - especially when they're drugstore and even more so when they're from Revolution. So, when this range was released not too long ago I had to pick up a couple of the shades that I felt best matched my skin-tone and personal preferences. And, so far, so good! These are so intense and blinding, yet so smooth in appearance at the same time. There's no chunky glitter and they just sit so nicely on the skin, creating such a pretty, wet-like look on the skin - which in my opinion, is the makings of a good highlighter. Both shades work perfectly on my paler skin - 'Set The Tone' is a gorgeous icy, opal colour; whilst 'Just My Type' is a lovely, light champagne gold - and as I said, I just really love the effect they give on my skin. Give me all that glowwww...

MUA INTENSE COLOUR LIP LINERS - Another great new find of mine recently has been these lip liners from MUA. I heard a few people raving about these and for £1.50 a pop, thought I'd pick a couple up to try and I love them! I actually managed to get them even cheaper than that at the time of buying them all - what a bargain, right? And, what's even better, they're so good too. First off, there's such an amazing range of colours - from your nudes, to browns, pinks, reds, berry's, you name it - and the quality of every shade I picked up so far is awesome too. These lip liners are so creamy, glide on the lips with no effort at all and are so rich in pigment too. Once on, they stay in place all day/night long and really help keep whatever lip product you pair with it staying put for as long as possible too. I definitely want to add to my collection of these lip liners!

REVOLUTION MATTE LIP LIQUID LIPSTICKS IN 'CHAUFFEUR' AND 'BALLERINA' - It's no secret that I love a good matte liquid lip and so, when Revolution launched this collection - I just had to try a couple of the shades out. And so far, I really like them! 'Chauffeur' is a gorgeous mauvey-brown nude, whilst 'Ballerina' is more of a brighter, light pink and I really like both colours. But, not only that, the formula is a winner, in my opinion. These apply onto to lips really creamy and glossy, but soon dry down to a matte finish in no time at all. They're completely matte and fully transfer-proof - which is always something I look for in a liquid lip - and once set, they most definitely do. not. budge. I can easily wear this all day or night long and it'll only require minimal touch-ups at the very centre of my lips through eating or drinking - and even then, it's hardly noticeable! Definitely want to pick up more shades of these...

L'OREAL PARIS ROUGE SIGNATURE MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN 'I'M WORTH IT' - Another liquid lipstick that I've tried recently and have really enjoyed is this one from L'Oreal's newest range. I knew I wanted to try a colour from this collection ever since seeing them getting a lot of hype here, there and everywhere and in the end I decided to opt for this classic, kinda pink-toned red. And I'm really happy with it so far! This formula is so different to anything else, liquid lip-wise, I've tried before. It's so thin and almost feels as if you're applying water onto the lips, but yet it delivers a fully opaque, rich colour in just one layer. Madness. It definitely sets into place, but doesn't fully dry down to a fully matte finish and you may assume this would put me off after trying the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lips, I've come to release that a liquid lip doesn't necessarily have to dry to a powdery matte in order for it to not move around and be long lasting - and that's exactly the case with these ones too. Whilst it retains a slight sheen, this stuff most definitely does not budge throughout the day. It only really requires small touch-ups at the very centre of the lips but aside from that, you're all good - which is especially great when you're talking a bright red like this! I personally also really like how, because it's not fully matte, it never feels or looks dry in anyway and the super-thin formula really helps it to be so lightweight on the lips too. Really happy with this!

REVOLUTION RELOADED BRONZER IN 'HOLIDAY ROMANCE' - Bronzer-wise, it's well-known that usually I am a matte gal, through and through. I like a completely shimmer-free bronzer to help add shape and warmth to my face. I guess anything shimmery in bronzers kinda scares me a little as I have visions of warm, orangey chunky glitter all over my face but recently, I have admittedly come to doubt that a little. There's been a few launches here and there lately that has definitely done to shift that opinion and made me question whether, perhaps as makeup has evolved, so has the concept of a 'shimmery bronzer'. And this was one of them! As soon as I saw these, I knew I wanted to try out a shade as this baked formula didn't look super intense and metallic, just slightly sheeney - which is more my kinda thing that I'd want if not going fully matte with my bronzer. And so far, I have to admit that I'm surprisingly impressed! This not only adds a little warmth to my skin, whilst just depositing the slightest shimmer to the skin, so much so that it's almost undetectable and I love it. If I had one 'fault', I'd say that I kinda want to pick up the next shade up as I actually feel this colour is a tad too light for me (I know, I never thought it possible either), but formula-wise, this is a surprise winner!

REVOLUTION FOIL FRENZY CREATION EYESHADOW PALETTE - Eyes-wise, I have yet another new palette love! I knew as soon as I saw this newbie from Revolution that I wanted to try it out and so far, I'm pretty pleased with it. It's definitely a 'different' kind of palette to anything I've tried before - and I'm not talking about the colour scheme! The colours inside are actually all my kinda thing - golds, pinks, champagnes, purples, greens - but the formula is certainly unique. These are almost like a cream-to-powder finish, they feel so soft and creamy, but are a powder shadow! Very strange, but in a good way. I've found you definitely need to apply these with a finger in order to get them to work and apply correctly and as pigmented as they can on the lids, but once you do that, they work very well indeed. Because they're such a soft formula, they create little to no fall-out when applying them, glide onto the eyes with virtually no effort at all and they really do give such an intense, metallic finish. I have found a couple of the colours I've tried so far aren't as foiled as the others and need a little more work to build up, but aside from that, I'm very impressed!
