It's nearly the end of another month (wow, already?) and hence, it's time for another 'Where Are They Now? Favourites'! A series I started at the beginning of this year - and it basically does exactly what it says on the tin. I run-down every past year for that particular month's monthly favourites and basically, see what I still love or use and what has perhaps fell by the wayside along the way since. Let's get started...
- I have to admit, this is a bit of an 'unsuccessful' month in terms of looking back at it now. A lot of the products I no longer own and those that I still do, I don't really ever use that regularly, or anymore at all. I still really like using the Maybelline Color Show Rebel Bouquet Nail Polish in 'Bouquet' every now and again and the Barry M Plumpy Top Coat remains one of my favourite nail top coats (even though I'm not using it right now) but that's about it!
- In comparison to 2015, it seems I found a lot more firm favourites in 2016! From re-discovering my love of Bourjois' Healthy Mix Foundation, to finally giving in the hype surrounding the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and the Tangle Teezer and even starting using my now-favourite scent of Batiste Dry Shampoo ('Fresh') - it seems I was pretty lucky this time when it came to finding new staples in my beauty routine.
- I feel like this year was perhaps the most lucky so far. There's a lot of super loves like my NYX Epic Ink Liner, Barry M Matte Me Up Liquid Lip Paints, Barry M So-Cute! Icle Cuticle Oil and new shades of my Sleek Matte Me Lip Creams and even aside from that, everything I still really like, just might not use as often. From this for example, my Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in 'Peanut Butter' is still a go-to shade of mine if I fancy going nude on my nails, I still adore the NYX Duo-Chromatic Highlighter in 'Snow Rose' whenever I want a more 'colourful', pinky-toned glow and their Away We Glow Liquid Highlighter in 'Crystal Glare' remains one of the few liquid/cream highlighters that always works well and never fails me!
- So finally - we come to this time, last year! And actually, despite me featuring all of these a mere 12 months ago, this is one is a bit of a mixed bag. I have some definite loves that I'm still enjoying - like L'Oreal Crushed Foil Metallic Highlighter in 'Rose Quartz' and the Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in 'Rioja Red' - but aside from that, nothing is exactly the same. I say 'exactly' as there's actually a few products that I enjoy, just not the same shade/s I featured in this post! The Collection Velvet Kiss Lip Cream, for example, I still really enjoy, but in different shades; and the Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Liquid Lip Paints/Kits in that certain colourway isn't as much of a go-to of mine right now, but I still really love and use regularly others I own. I even still really love the Weightless Dry Oil from OGX, but just have found another from a different range of theirs that is my new favourite! I have to admit though, the Revolution Flawless Foils and Fast Base Foundation Stick aren't as much products I use on the regular right now. I've discovered so many other awesome eye toppers/glitters/foils that I enjoy possibly even more and foundations too - a.k.a. another one from Revolution, the Conceal and Define!
