March: The Love List

Somehow, someway it's the end of March already. Can you believe it? I certainly can't, but one thing I do know is that it can only mean one thing - it's time to talk everything beauty I've been loving throughout the past month! So, without any further ado, let's just get straight into it...

L'OREAL INFALLIBLE 24HR FRESHWEAR FOUNDATION IN 'PORCELAIN' - All of this Makeup I actually featured in a post I did here not too long ago, so I don;t want to go into too much detail in this one as I feel like I've said it all already but here goes! This foundation is awesome. A nice, medium coverage that can be easily sheered out or built up as you wish. It'll never be full-full coverage, but it's definitely a strong, high-medium and I personally really like it. It's nice to have something that's slightly less coverage than something like the Revolution Conceal and Define, but more than my Bourjois Healthy Mix, yanno? It blends like a dream; with good, customisable coverage (as I've said) and a nice, not-too-dewy, not-too-matte finish; sits super nicely on the skin and lasts all day long - what more could you want? I think I've found yet another favourite foundation of mine!

ELF CAMO CONCEALER IN 'LIGHT SAND' - Another base product I've been loving in March is this concealer from ELF! I actually have two new concealers that I've really enjoyed this month - more on the second one in a bit - but first off, as for this one, I really like it! This is super high coverage. Like possibly even more so than my holy grail, Conceal and Define Concealer - and that stuff is pretty up there, coverage-wise. It's also a little more on the matte side, dries down a little quicker - so I've found you need to work in small sections, blending as you go. All that said though, this is a really nice concealer! As I said, it gives such amazing coverage, you really don't need a lot and it blends out really nicely. Though more matte in texture, I haven't found any major issues so far. It doesn't make my skin look or feel too dry, feels pretty lightweight and comfortable and especially around the eye area, actually look really flattering!

OBSESSION MEGA CONCEALER IN '03' - The other awesome new concealer find I've made this month comes from Obsession. As soon as I saw this was being released, I knew I had to give it a try. Being such a massive fan of the Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer, picking this one up was a no-brainer for me. Obsession are actually a 'sister' brand of Revolution, so my logic was that surely, this would be pretty similar if not near-identical? And you know what? I think I'd agree with that. Personally, I'd say the Obsession is just a little less thick in consistency and just a drop less coverage but aside from that - they're pretty comparable. As I said, this one definitely isn't as full-full coverage, but really only slightly and it still delivers on the coverage front - plus, it can be built up easily too. Also, I'd say this formula is slightly more moisturising on the skin too. Rev's Conceal and Define has a nice, satin finish and whilst I'd say ELF's veers more matte, Obsession's is certainly a little more hydrating. All down to what you prefer - I personally really enjoy all three!

REVOLUTION RELOADED HIGHLIGHTERS IN 'SET THE TONE' AND 'JUST MY TYPE' - It wouldn't be a favourites of the month from me without one or two new go-to glows, right? As soon as these beauties launched recently, I just had to pick a couple shades up and so far - so good! The former is a gorgeous icy white, whilst the latter a light champagne-gold tone and both work ideally for my skin-tone - yay! Not only that though, the formula and finish of these are awesome too. These give such an intense glow to the skin, yet aren't at all chunky or glittery in anyway at the same time. They just give that 'wet' type look, which we all love!

REVOLUTION RELOADED BRONZER IN 'HOLIDAY ROMANCE' - We all know by now that when it comes to Bronzers, matte formulas are usually my thing. I don't typically like or go for shimmery textures, but for some reason, when this range came out not too long ago - I decided to pick one up, cause I guess these looked a little different. And they really are! Whilst these aren't fully matte-matte bronzers, they've also got a baked formula with just a fine shimmer running through  - so they aren't super-shimmery and really intense (as I always dread anything other than a matte bronzer being on the skin). The baked set-up also means you don't pick up a tonne of pigment at once, again meaning they don't translate as uber-metallic when applying them. Basically, they just give the slightest touch of sheen which looks so natural and not too noticeable - perfect! This shade is perhaps a little too light for me as a bronzer (I know, I never thought this day would come either) and I would think about picking up the next shade up in order to get a more bronzey look, but formula-wise, these are great!

REVOLUTION FOIL FRENZY CREATION EYESHADOW PALETTE - Eyes-wise, I have been loving this palette! At first, I must admit I was a little underwhelmed, but as soon as I got the hang of how you need to apply these shadows - it works so well! These are almost like a cream-to-powder formulation so I've come to learn that you must apply them with a finger. Seriously, don't even try them with a brush of any kind - they won't work. Use a fingertip though and you'll be good to go! The only major disadvantage of this is that you can't really utilise these shadows in any kind of precise work (cut creases, halo eyes etc...) but for a softer look where you just blend a shimmer over the lid and leave things more diffused between the lid and crease/outer corner - they're pretty great. They give such an intense, super-shimmery, foiled-like effect with such a rich, pigmented colour too. I love the colours in here too - from your neutral golds, bronzes and champagnes to your more colourful pinks, purples, greens - you name it. I'd love to see the same formula but with even bolder, brighter, rainbow shades too...

MUA INTENSE COLOUR LIP LINERS - Then, we come to the Lips and it's no secret that I love a good lip liner. Not only for lining and adding shape before lip colour and also helping whatever I place over the top last that bit better, but also for overlining too! And honestly, I typically find super cheap and affordable ones to be awesome - hence why I made a beeline for this new range from MUA when they started getting some hype online! These are just £1.50 each (yep, that's right!) and let me tell you - they're so, so good! So pigmented and so creamy in texture too - they glide onto the lips with little to no effort at all, making a smooth, precise application super easy to achieve. What's more, whilst they are very buttery and soft formula-wise, they don't move once on the lips and really do help hold your lip colour in place and within the lines throughout the day/night too. For the amazing low price and high quality, you really can't go wrong with these - I definitely want to pick up more shades!

L'OREAL PARIS ROUGE SIGNATURE MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN 'I'M WORTH IT' - Now - liquid lipsticks - and first off, I've got this classic red from this new range of L'Oreal's. I've seen and heard so many good things about this collection and I just had to at least give one colour a try - and what better than a bright, bold rouge? As much as I love a good nude lip, I equally love rocking colour on my lips too and let me say, I think this is one of my new favourites, red-wise! This is such a different and unique formula to anything else, liquid lipstick-wise, that I've tried before. It's such a super-thin, almost watery formula - it quite literally feels as if you're applying water onto your lips! However, at the same time, it delivers a completely opaque colour in the one layer and quickly dries down in no time at all. It doesn't dry fully matte-matte (as I usually like in a liquid lipstick), it kinda retains a bit of sheen like the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Inks and like those, whilst they don't have that powdery finish, they somehow last and last and do not move at all! Seriously, this wore down a little through eating and drinking but aside from that, the colour was still there and did not move outside of where I've applied it at all. The slightly satin finish also meant it was really was so comfortable to wear too!

REVOLUTION MATTE LIP LIQUID LIPSTICKS IN 'CHAUFFEUR' AND 'BALLERINA' - Another new liquid lipstick range came recently from Revolution and much like a lot of what they release - I had to try it out. The shade range is made up of predominately nudes (of different variations and tones) and so I picked up two shades which stood out to me most - 'Chauffeur' (a mauvey-brown) and 'Ballerina' (a brighter, light pink). I really love both colours, which is great - and I also really like the formula of the collection too. The colours apply fully opaque in one coat and the formula is very creamy and liquidy (but thicker and more 'moussey' than the L'Oreal). However, don't fret - they also soon dry down to a matte effect. These certainly dry down to more of that classic, powdery-matte finish this time but still feel really comfortable to wear throughout the day and don't make your lips look all dry and crusty - which is never what you want, right!

BARRY M MOLTEN METAL NAILS PAINTS IN 'FUCHSIA KISS' AND 'PEACHY FEELS' - Finally, we come to Nails and this month, I've really been enjoying two colours in particular! Both from one of, if not my favourite nail polish brand - Barry M - and also from possibly my favourite range of theirs, the Molten Metals. Super sheeney, metallic lacquers, some of which even have fine glitter running through and so make for awesome all-in-one colours. These two, part of their recent Spring/Summer '19 drop, are gorgeous and definitely fall into that latter category. Not only have they got that gorgeous metallic, chrome-type finish, they're also laced with a lot of shimmer and so kinda negate the need for any kind of topper afterwards - yay! 'Fuchsia Kiss' is such a pretty rich, fuchsia pink (as the name suggests) with subtle silver shimmer running through; whilst 'Peachy Feels' is a gorgeous peach with a warm, golden undertone - I really do love both and can't wait to get even more use out of them!

So, those were all of the beauty products I loved throughout the month of March! A lot of awesome new makeup, with a couple of equally-awesome nail lacquers thrown in for good measure. Have you tried any of these, or perhaps you're interested in doing so soon? Let me know in the comments below!
