I popped into my local Superdrug the other day and of course, I ended up picking up an item - or five. I had a few products on my wishlist and luckily, came across them in-store so I thought, why not share everything I bought with you all? It's definitely a slightly smaller, more select haul but I'm really happy with everything I picked up - so without any further ado, let's get started...
I was after a couple of new nail polishes from Barry M and luckily, I managed to find them in my local store the other day! They've recently released their annual Spring/Summer range of their infamous Gelly Nail Paints and two in particular caught my attention the most. And, they are 'Pink Grapefruit' (a gorgeous light, peachy-pink, coral shade) and 'Banana Split' (a bright, true yellow). I love my pinky polishes, especially around Spring/Summer, so 'Pink Grapefruit' just called out my name; whilst 'Banana Split' is just a little something different, you know? I've never tried a true yellow nail polish before and have always been intrigued about trying one - so what better time than now? I can't wait to give them both a go and of course, share my traditional 'Polish Pick' posts with you all - aswell as possibly some others with my using these newbies in-conjunction with other favourites already in my collection...
Whilst I was there, with a 3 for 2 across all Cosmetics on my mind, I decided to add some other goodies into my basket. Why not, right? From Barry M once again, I spotted one of their older Gelly Nail Paints and instantly wanted to add it into my collection. This is the shade 'Green Berry' - a super-pretty, minty-green. It's light, but not too pasty and wishy-washy and I love a pop of green on my nails in the Spring/Summer so can't wait to give this newbie to my collection a try! Then, I also found myself perusing the nail section at the nearby Maybelline stand and decided to pick up the Super Stay Flash Dry Quick-Dry Top Coat. As you may know, my current top coat of choice is also from Maybelline and is very similar-looking to this one and I love it. So, I thought - why not try out this version? I think the main difference is that this one claims to dry and set the nails into place much quicker (even though personally, I find other other version to be perfectly fine at doing that too anyway!) - so I'm intrigued to see how that one goes...
Finally, to round up my 3 for 2 offers, I went back to Barry M and decided to pick up an old favourite. You all know that in terms of setting sprays, the Urban Decay All Nighter will always be my go-to. Yes, it's more pricey - but it's so, so good - and generally, it remains the one I will use every single day. However, occasionally I do like to dabble in something drugstore/affordable - whether that be something new or something old - and this one certainly falls into the latter category. Of all of the more affordable setting spays I've tried in the past, Barry M's Dewy Setting Spray has to be one of the better ones. It sets things down nicely, melts everything together, keeps my makeup in place well and leaves my skin with a really nice, glowy finish too (which as someone with dry skin, I am always after). Also, as I've mentioned recently, I'm becoming pretty interested in trying more alcohol-free setting sprays (and maybe even converting to them entirely eventually) and this one ticks that box perfectly! I'm still going to be looking for something more expensive/high-end as a possible, eventual replacement for my All Nighter but in terms of drugstore offerings, setting spray-wise - I think this one from Barry M will be the one I go for if in need from now on...
