As you may have seen in my last post here, I finally took the plunge and successfully narrowed down my many, man favourites of Revolution into just five top picks. It was a little difficult, but I did it and on the back of that, I thought today that I'd combine all of their sister brands (a.k.a. all of the other brands that fall under the 'Revolution' umbrella) and pick out my five favourites from them as a whole and make yet another Beauty Brand(s) Favourites. Also, I seem to have made a lot of these in a row now - I promise normal posts will be coming back after this one! Let's go...
OBSESSION MEGA HIGHLIGHTER IN 'MEGA LIGHTNING' - Starting with some fab Face Products, this highlighter just had to get a mention in this line-up. If you haven't heard me banging on about how great this is, I'll be surprised as it feels like ever since trying it out a few months ago (after hearing MakeMeUpMissa rave about the Mega Highlighters so much in her videos) it's become one of those products I'm always talking about. These highlighters are just £3 each and yet, the formula and finish is something that you'd honestly think is worth far more than that utterly bargainous price-point! So intense and blinding (even with the lightest application), yet so smooth on the skin at the same time. There's no chunky glitter or shimmer, it just gives such a 'natural' (but obviously not natural as it's so intense), sheen-ey glow - which is always what I'm after in a good highlighter. This shade 'Mega Lightening' in particular is just so, so perfect for my skin-tone - a kind of white gold that's just light enough, without being too icy and ghostly on my complexion. They have plenty of other shades in the range for all different skin-tones and preferences too, so definitely check them out if you haven't already!
REVOLUTION PRO SUPREME HIGHLIGHTER PALETTE IN 'ICE' - Another glow-based product, this time - from Revolution Pro - is this handy little palette. It's not often I buy or even really look at highlighter palettes as typically, there's a couple of shades that are my sort of thing or that would work for my skin-tone and then the rest are unusable - but this one is different. Inside here, you get three highlighters and all of them are perfect for my paler skin! Yes, maybe the blue-toned one isn't so much my sort of go-to colour (unless maybe I was going for a blue eye look and wanted to keep things more monochromatic on the cheeks) but the pinky-toned one on the left and gorgeous light gold champagne in the middle certainly are - so two out of three definitely ain't bad! The formula, again, is a winner - super smooth, non-glittery, very intense and blinding - and as I said, not only is there three pretty colours to choose from, all three can work for my paler skin. I know they do a couple other shade selections in this range aswell, so those would be worth a check too if you're deeper in skin-tone than me!
REVOLUTION PRO SKIN FINISH POWDERS IN 'OPALESCENT' AND 'LUMINESCENT' - Something else that the lovely MakeMeUpMissa put me (and it seems a lot of others) onto not too long ago are these 'finishing' powders. Think the MAC Mineralize Skin Finishes or the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders - but cheaper! Obviously, I haven't personally tried either of those more expensive alternatives, but from what I can tell, this is basically a much more affordable and accessible dupe of them. After seeing Missa using 'Opalescent' in particular over and over again in her videos, I eventually caved and bought it for myself - and I'm so, so glad I did. I loved it so much that I went back and bought the shade lighter, 'Luminscent', too! Basically, these are like the perfect mix of a pressed powder and a highlighter. They're more glowy than a pressed powder, but less intense and blinding as a highlighter - meaning they work perfectly all over the face to give yourself a lovely, general glow across the whole complexion! 'Opalescent' is slightly deeper but still quite light and so works perfectly for my paler skin-tone; whilst 'Luminscent' is just a drop lighter and so of course works like a dream too. Again, there's plenty of other shades available though too if you're of a deeper complexion than me!
I HEART REVOLUTION CHOCOLATE LIPGLOSS IN 'SALTED CARAMEL' - Finally for the Makeup - we come to an awesome lip product! I knew I had to mention this lipgloss in this post as ever since buying and trying it a whole ago now, it has quickly become a go-to of mine. I actually think this was the gloss that kinda finally got me onto gloss and made me want to start wearing it more regularly - so for that alone, I think this product was worthy of a shout-out! Not only is the pinky-brown, not-too-light-but-not-too-dark nude just perfect for me (it's almost like a MLBB type shade for me personally), the formula is just awesome. Not heavy feeling, sticky or goopy at all, just the right level of opaque-ness where the colour is there, but it's not too intense or overpowering over anything else you've got underneath on your lips and, possibly most importantly - it gives your lips such a super shiny finish!
I HEART REVOLUTION X SOPH VANILLA AND CREME BRULE BODY MIST - Last, but definitely by no means least - a body spray! Another collaboration with SophDoesNails - and I guess that was the first reason I paid attention to its launch a while back and eventually picked it up. But, it's actually quickly become a firm favourite in my stash! I love wearing perfume a lot of the time (which, FYI - is the Ghost Deep Night Eau De Toilette) but for when I'm just going to work or maybe not doing anything particularly exciting, I still like to have a body spray on hand - and this one right here has been my go-to these past few months for exactly that. As the name suggests, this is such a gorgeous, rich, sweet (but not sickly), kinda musky scent - which is right up my street, as that is exactly the sort of body spray (and even perfume) that I tend to go for! I also find this to last on me pretty well for just a body spray too - I can still sometimes smell this on me come the end of a day, which is pretty impressive. Also, this bottle is huge compared to some other body sprays on the market and as a result, I'm still making my way through it however many months later. (Oh wow, I've just looked on here and seen that I actually bought this body spray almost a year ago, back in November! So definitely one that'll last you a long time - I always spray a generous amount of me every time I use it too!).
