Beauty Brand Favourites: Revolution

You may remember in my last post on Friday, I was talking about all of my favourite bits 'n' bobs from Barry M and now, today, I thought I'd do another updated Beauty Brand Favourites (updated) - this time, for possibly my favourite makeup brand right now. Revolution! To be clear, in this one we're talking strictly Revolution items only (not including anything from their sister brands like I Heart Revolution, Obsession or Revolution Pro - I may or may not be saving those for a separate post like this very soon) so if there's anything you feel is missing, that could be why! And even when just looking at Revolution alone, they have so many products and I have certainly bought and tested a lot of them too - so that equally could also explain why you may not see some things crop up here. Originally I was gonna extend this post to a Top Ten, but eventually decided to just go for the Top Five and let me tell you, it was pretty hard narrowing my favourites down to just those top, holy grail, favourite favourites. Let's see what made the cut...

CONCEAL AND HYDRATE FOUNDATION - Starting with the Base, I just had to throw this foundation in here. I was gonna go for the Conceal and Define Foundation to fill this post to begin with but I realised that since this foundation released a couple of months back - I've worn it a lot more! It's kinda like the same foundation (maybe slightly less coverage but still buildable enough to get it to the same full coverage as the C&D) but just more hydrating and with a more glowy, luminous finish! Having normal/dry skin, I've come to prefer the way this foundation looks, feels and wears on my skin - so it just had to get a shout-out right here!

CONCEAL AND DEFINE CONCEALER - Something from the Conceal and Define family that has stayed in my top, top favourites of Revolution category is the concealer. Launched way back at the very start of last year, it's since been my holy grail concealer! Super large doe foot applicator which glides onto the skin perfectly and a formula that delivers such full coverage in just one application! It blends out easily and though full coverage, it's not heavy feeling or cakey looking on the skin at all. It dries down slightly, but I still like to powder/bake it into place and even then the finish is lovely and smooth - just more matte! Once set, it doesn't crease or move throughout the day and the coverage stays too. What's not to love?

SOPH EXTRA SPICE PALETTE - Eyes-wise, you all know I just had to mention this palette right here. I have many, many favourite eyeshadow palettes from Revolution that I would love to feature in this line-up too, but I think this one remains my ultimate favourite of them all. A gorgeous mix of warm tones, neutrals, a few cool tones and some bright pops of colour - all for just £10 too! Because of the wide and diverse colour selection, there really is an infinite amount of looks you can create with this palette and every time I use it, I'm always super pleased with the finished result! But possibly most importantly, the quality of the shadows themselves are just worth so much more than their £10 price-tag. The mattes are super pigmented and blend like a dream; whilst the shimmers are so intense and foiled-like, even with just a flat brush to apply them! If you are one what seems like the very few to have never tried this palette yet - do it now!

SOPH HIGHLIGHTER PALETTE - Another part of Soph's various collaborations with Revolution that I tried and have been obsessed with ever since is her Highlighter Palette! Soph is all about the glow so as soon as this released, I think everyone had a feeling it'd be good but honestly - I think it's even better than I was expecting. To start with, for just £8, you get eight shades - that works out pretty well, right?! Great value and a great selection to suit a variety of skin-tones and also preferences too! But not only that, the quality is so, so great. Every shade I've ever used is equally as awesome as the others - super intense with even the smallest amount, but at the same time not at all chunky or glittery. They just deposit such a gorgeous, blinding (but at the same time very smooth and sheen-ey) glow to the skin. And even though it's a highlighter palette containing shades of a variety of depths and tones - I find I can actually make use out of a lot of the shades too!

MATTE LIP LIQUID LIPSTICKS - Finally, I have one major favourite from Revolution for the Lips - these awesome matte liquid lipsticks! It's no secret that I love me a good matte liquid lip and ever since trying these ones when they first released a few months back, they have soon become one of my favourite, go-to formulas! They apply super liquidy and glossy on the lips, but in a matter of seconds soon dry down to a super powdery-matte finish (which as I've said before, is always something I look for with matte liquid lips). Though they are very full-on matte, they're so lightweight feeling on the lips and also never feel or look dry at all - they're still pretty comfortable surprisingly! There's so, so many colours available - from nudes to brights to bolds - and every one I've bought and used is consistent with the same, amazing formula. They all apply and dry evenly and fully opaque in one layer and longevity-wise, they're pretty hardy. Asides from the occasional touch-up at the very centre of the lips after eating/drinking, they stay in place pretty impeccably all day/night long!
