Polish Pick: Birthday Nails!

It was my 23rd Birthday last week (scary stuff) and although I obviously didn't get up to much this year, I still decided to paint my nails all pretty for the occasion - just as I usually would! Because, even though it was a Lockdown Birthday, I guess it was one of the ways I tried my best to keep some form of 'normality', if that makes sense? I have decided against doing a post all about my Birthday Makeup this year as, with no real plans, I didn't do anything too extraordinary, but I though it'd be nice to document my nails at least! Here's what I used to create this look...

I first went in with an old favourite of mine - Barry M's Molten Metal Nail Paint in 'Fuchsia Kiss'! A gorgeous, hot pink metallic lacquer with silver shimmer running through it - it's just stunning - and I just thought, what better time to bring it back out again? One layer of that down, I then of course moved onto an essential part of any birthday nails - at least, for me - glitter! First off, I applied a coat of a more recent-ish love, also from Barry M - their Glitter Nail Paint in 'Socialite'. This is almost identical to Fuchsia Kiss in terms of colour and tone, just with glitter added into the mix! A blue-based pink with a mix of blue, purple, pink sparkle thrown in there - all of which ensure this catches the light beautifully. It just adds not only more glitz, but also more dimension to the metallic base - I love it! Then, whilst I could definitely have left things there - I chose to go one step further and top things off with one final lacquer. Again, from Barry M, this was their Glitter Nail Paint in 'Live It Up'! This has been a firm favourite of mine ever I think I since received it as a 'Free Gift With Purchase' quite a while ago. A bright, Barbie-pink base with flecks of gold, purple and blue running through it - similar to 'Socialite', it just adds not only extra sparkle, but also an extra element to the look and as it was the lightest and brightest of the three, applying it as the final, finishing step worked a treat!
