Barry M recently launched a new collection of their popular, long-standing nail polish range - the Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints! These have been around for so long now and I've been a major fan myself for quite some time too. Traditional creme polishes that come in such a wide array of shades, are always fully opaque in two coats, dry quickly and easily and have a super shiny, almost gel polish-like finish - just as the name suggests! And because I always seem to have such good success with these polishes, my interest is piqued whenever a new collection is launched - and that's exactly what happened with this one for Summer 2020! Introducing, the Rainbow Reload Collection...
This range is definitely a classic Spring/Summer one. They're all varying bright, pastel tones that just scream out for the warmer weather! In the end, I bought all six of the shades as having taken a look at my current collection, I realised that they were all totally unique and 'justifiable', if you get what I mean! So, I picked up the full range and having now given them all a try, I definitely do not regret it...
Because I had so many new colours to try, I decided to do something a little different and actually try them all out, at once! I figured out if I paint eight of my nails across my two hands and then my two middle fingers the remaining two colours - I'd be able to try all six colours, in one go! So that's what I went for and I actually really like the effect anyway - very cute and candy-inspired! So, starting on my pinky fingers I went in with 'Lemon Sorbet' (a pretty pastel yellow), on my ring fingers I used 'Raspberry Ripple' (the warm pink), on my index fingers I used 'Grape Soda' (a pretty lilac purple) and then on my thumbs I used 'Sour Candy' (a light, aqua blue). Then, on either of my middle fingers I used 'Pistachio' (a pastel green) and 'Mandarin' (a bright orange)!
Formula-wise, I really enjoyed all of these colours. They're all pretty consistent with all of the Gelly Nail Paints I've used before - for all of the reasons I mentioned right at the start of this post! They all impressed me and I really love all of the colours themselves too. As I imagined, they're all unique to anything else in my current personal stash and I'm so happy I picked all of them up in time for Summer as I can see myself using these so much over the next couple of months (and probably throughout the coming year in general as I use varying colours on my nails all year long to be honest!). I'll likely be using these as stand-alone shades from now on as I typically do with all my nail polishes but having enjoyed this multi-coloured look so much, I may well do something like it again...
