December: The Love List #DitsyDecember

It's time for my final Monthly Favourites of 2020 - December! I cannot believe we're now at the very end of the year. 2020's felt like both the longest and shortest year of them all and I know we're all very glad to finally see the end of it. Here's hoping that 2021 will be at least a little better than the past 12 months, eh? But, for now, let's recap all of my beauty picks from December...

BARRY M CRYSTAL ROCKS NAIL PAINT IN 'EMERALD GREEN' - I used this gorgeous nail polish right at the start of the month and have fell in love ever since. It's the perfect Christmassey colour! A stunning emerald green in an all-glitter formula - there's flecks of blue and gold in there too! I like to pop a top coat over top to take away that slight gritty feeling and also make the nails a little more shiny and the glitter more reflective and we're good to go!

BARRY M MOLTEN METALS NAIL PAINT IN 'ANTIQUE GOLD' - I also tried this nail colour out in December and have really enjoyed this one too! This is a lovely, rich, burgundy colour with warm, golden glitter running through it. It's basically Christmas in a nail colour! As usual, the Molten Metals formula doesn't disappoint when it comes to application and finish and I think it perhaps works especially well for a colour like this. At first this appears more of your classic, deep wine hue and then under the light you get this stunning flash of bright, golden glimmer!

L'OREAL AIR VOLUME MEGA MASCARA - I was really interested in trying this new mascara from L'Oreal. In the past, I've always had pretty good experience with their mascara offerings and this one was also getting some rather good reviews - so I picked it up and safe to say, I'm really happy I did. This really does beef up your lashes - almost immediately giving them lots of length, volume and thickness. Whilst it does really thicken up the lashes, it also does a pretty good job of separating them out at the same time and my lashes never end up looking clumpy - which is always a good thing! My lashes are lifted, have a nice, fluttery curl and although this mascara doesn't claim to be waterproof - it never smudges transfers or crumbles off throughout the day. What more could you ask for?

XX REVOLUTION XXPOSURE POWDER HIGHLIGHTER IN 'REACTIVE' - I've been intrigued by XX Revolution (a new sister brand for Revolution Beauty) ever since they first launched earlier in 2020. Then recently, I had quite a lot of points on my Boots Advantage Card, plus a 1/3 Off voucher for the brand - so I knew it was time to finally pick something up! Their highlighters seemed to be the most highly recommended, so I chose out a shade which looked to be my kinda thing and excitedly gave it a whirl - and I love it! A pale, pink-toned highlighter that's not too cool-toned and icy - it's ideal for my paler skin-tone! I personally love a good pink highlighter but sometimes they can be a tad frosty  in finish, but this one still has enough warmth to really just blend beautifully into the skin. You only need the slightest tap in the pan to achieve an intense, reflective glow but I'm guessing if you want a more 'subtle' finish, you can easily sheer it out too. It is a slightly glittery formula, however a tap off the excess removes the majority of it and once applied, it's still so smooth and sheen-ey in finish! No metallic glitter chunks to be seen...

MAC RETRO MATTE LIPSTICK IN 'RUBY WOO' - I love a red lip all year round - but especially so at Christmas-time. And this year, I've really re-discovered my love for one red lippie in particular. Good ol' Ruby Woo! A classic, true, Christmassey red in a super-matte formula that's long-wearing, nearly transfer-proof, yet so comfortable and non-drying in both look and feel at the same time - what's not to love? I love this red lip so much that it's the one I actually wore over Christmas itself this year!

AUSSIE 3 MINUTE MIRACLE BLONDE DEEP TREATMENT - I've loved the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner for years now. Though I've tried and loved many others throughout the years, it remains one of my top, go-to's and so, when I saw they'd launched this Blonde Version - I knew I had to give it a try! Having highlighted, bleached blonde hair, taking good care of it is a top priority of mine. Not only toning it, but also by keeping the hydration in there too. And this sounded like it'd be just great for that - the classic 3 Minute Miracle, but with added Blonde benefits! And it really is - it's the same, thick, deeply nourishing formula that leaves my hair feeling and looking so soft, shiny and smooth but it's bright purple in colour, so helps to keep the tone of my blonde that perfect, non-brassy colour. I'll definitely keep this one in mind when I want a good deep conditioner/hair mask in the future...

So there we have it - my final beauty favourites for 2020! I'm very much looking forward to continuing this series, as usual, in January. But, for now, I'd love to know what you've been loving, beauty-wise, this month - so remember to leave it in the comments below!
