One way of getting into the Christmas spirit is by incorporating some festive-ness into your makeup! A small but fun way of bringing some festive cheer - especially so after this year! Here's some of my go-to ways of going all Christmassey with your makeup look...
THE CLASSIC RED LIP - Ah, an old favourite - but for very good reason! If in doubt when wanting to go festive with your makeup - go for a good ol' red lip! Whether lipstick, liquid lip, gloss - you name it - just pick your formula, choose your perfect red (whether it be more blue-based, orange or pink in undertone) and rock it...
...AND ALL OF THE OTHER CLASSIC CHRISTMAS COLOURS TOO! - Red isn't the only festive-themed tone - there's plenty others to play with if you fancy getting Christmassey with your makeup look! Red can obviously also be incorporated on the eyes, along with colours like Green, Gold, White and Silver. Just pull out your favourite palettes and see what you can create using all of those gorgeous tones!
THE WINGED LINER - You may not immediately think it, but a classic black winged liner is in my opinion a great, more 'simple' way of creating that festive-inspired look. It's a favourite all-year-round, but I think around Christmas-time, it looks especially fab. Glamourous and dramatic - but still very 'clean' and classic at the same time. Also, it's great for if you want to rock a red lip this Christmas and want something more 'parred back' on the eyes!
GLITTER! - You can't go wrong with a touch (or perhaps a bit more) of glitter at Christmas and there's so many ways you can incorporate it into your makeup look nowadays. Basically, you don't have to just go for pure glitter! I personally love a good liquid glitter as it gives the same gorgeous effect, but with much less mess and fuss - though you can also opt for a good glittery shadow too. And that's only for eyes! If a glittery lip is more your kinda thing, a shimmery lipgloss adds sparkle and a shiny, plumping effect to the lips, all at the same time...
GLOW, GLOW GLOW... - In a similar lane to the above point, adding glow to the skin is a great way of making your look have that 'festive' feel. It may not seem it, as glowy skin is an all year round thing (handy rhyme there), but I think especially around Christmas-time is a great excuse to add the glow - and maybe go even more all-out than usual! I'm talking glowy primers, foundations, finishing powders, highlighters, glowy setting sprays - the lot. Go for glow!
