This year, perhaps more than ever, it's really been important to practice Self Care - and that includes during the Festive Season. A time of year that can typically be a little intense, stressful and overwhelming, taking some time for yourself can be pretty impactful. Especially after the year that has been 2020. So, here are some ways that you can make time for some Self Care this Christmas...
- Make some time for yourself. Christmas can be such a busy time of year but it's more than OK to also take some time for yourself sometimes too. Take a breather, take a step back and put yourself first if you need to. This Christmas is shaping up to be a little more parred-back than usual anyway, so I guess this year is the perfect excuse...
- Get outside. Yes, it may be a little cold and wet these Winter months but even just a nice walk to ensure you get some fresh air can be great for clearing your mind, lifting your mood and helping you to feel more refreshed. I even find sometimes that a good drive in my car can help achieve this, perfect for when the weather's not so great!
- Have a nice pamper session. A good, long bubble bath; freshly-washed hair; a good mani and pedi; face mask (the skincare type); freshly shaved, scrubbed and moisturised skin. The perfect stress-reliving relax...
- Write it down. Whether it be what you're grateful for, lists of things you have to-do or things you have done that day - writing things down can be so useful when it comes to clearing your headspace and feeling a lot more in control of things.
- Treat yourself! What better time than Christmas to indulge? I personally always try and be as 'good' as I can throughout the year but if there's a time of year I do like to treat myself - it's the festive season!
