The Tale of Becoming A LUSH Convert

Before I start this post I'm just gonna get this out there. Prior to this week, I'd never shopped in Lush before. I know, I know, how very unstereotypical-beauty-blogger of me. It was just never the type of place that interested me when I first got into beauty - mainly because my weekly pocket moment just couldn't afford it. When I got my first job last year, I vowed to go in there and have a look but time slipped away, another year rolled around and here we are, back at the launch of another Autumn/Winter collection.

So this time round, having prepared myself by watching a couple quite a few Lush Hauls, I promised myself I would actually go in there and 'pop my Lush cherry'. And pop it I did (ok I'll stop with the cherry analogy now, getting kinda gross). Having a few reservations about what experience I may have (I've heard the staff can be a little pushy), I eventually pushed them to a side and came out with two items to ease myself in slowly - a 'So White' bath bomb and a 'Butterball' bath ballistic.

Today I'm talking about the former, a plain, no-thrills/spills kind of affair which in the shop may not even catch your eye. However, having watched Zoella cite this as one of her fave Lush products two years running, I knew I had to give this a sniff and appearances really are deceptive. This smells of fresh apples, a very crisp, but refreshing scent.

That night I came home eager to try out one of my new purchases and this one excited me the most so in my bath it went. As it plonked into the bath the apple scent really developed and the water started going a creamy, cloudy colour before eventually the fun part came. Just as others had said in reviews of this product, as the bomb wore away and reached the middle, the bath began turning a bright pink hue. I was beyond happy.

In my fuchsia bath I went and instantly the water felt luxurious and incredibly pampering to my skin. It was velvety soft and I could feel my skin being moisturised as I soaked. The bomb continued fizzing during bathtime as the size of it meant it took so long to completely dissolve. When I finally got out, my skin did indeed feel super soft and I felt really relaxed in myself, so much so it was not long later that I was nearly nodding off - a true sign of a good bath product.

What can I say - I am officially a Lush convert. I'm even planning my next visit as we speak.

  1. This sounds lovely! I love Lush but I still haven't tried any of their bath stuff (although the fact there's no bath in my house has something to do with that haha) xx
