Empties #7

It's time for another round of the good 'ole Empties! If you're a regular round here or simply around any beauty blogs out there - you'll most likely already know what this is all about. If not - ready for a quick rundown of everything beauty-wise I've completely used up along with some mini reviews/ratings as we go? Let's do this then...

First off, as always, let's get out the way all the things I've shown you before in an Empties post as you'll probably not want to hear another mass rave again. I have some long-time skincare loves (Nivea Sensitive Day and Night Creams, Garnier Micellar Water and accompanying Tesco Double Faced Cotton Pads), a foundation you all know I adore (Rimmel's Lasting Finish 24 Hour Nude), a body spray I always seem to come back to if in need of a fragrance I can trust (the 'Very Pink' by Impulse) and a nail-related item I could not live without - dramatic but true - the Nail Corrector Pen by Barry M. Now - moving onto the good (and most importantly, new) stuff...

Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer - I've mentioned this primer a fair few times as of late, but it really does deserve its airtime as it's that good. I finished this tube pretty speedily as I loved it that much and found myself going to apply it nearly every day - whether I particularly wanted my makeup to last that bit longer or not. For me, what really makes me love this is the finish it gives to my skin. While it is a primer, it has a moisturiser-like feel to it which makes it super-duper comfortable and easy to apply. It still has that tackiness afterwards which reassures it it's going to keep your slap locked down but in probably one of the most user-friendly ways I've come across. Love, love, LOVE. (P.S. I've recently been giving another primer from Rimmel a test and my thoughts on the subject may or may not be featuring in Friday's post...)

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 'Fair' - Do I really need to go on about this again? I'd been hanging onto this tube of for ages now and when I say it's thoroughly scrapped out, I mean it. Yanno these past few weeks where pretty much no one has managed to get their hands on this concealer for some strange, mystical reason? Yeah, I was included in that despair too so had to stretch the contents of this one out for as long as possible until my L'Oreal one came along to save me. Luckily, it is now back in stock (or at least in my local Boots it is). Woop!

L'Oreal Brow Artiste Brow Pencil in 'Blonde' - Another of my favourite makeup items, and one I again could not live without. My brows are my nemesis most days and this, along with my other trusty (Soap and Glory's Archery Pencil), are about the only things that manage to get me out of that. I always buy this in the lightest shade to use at the front of my brows up until I get to the arch so everything's a little softer and then continue with S&G's and the two together really work a treat. I already have another of L'Oreal's on the go as we speak...

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara - Again, something I've rambled on about many a time before on this 'ere blog so I'm gonna try keep it short. Probably one of my all-time favourites when it comes to mascaras in the drugstore - it does pretty much everything I'd ever want. Volume, length, curl, lift, separation - all without any clumping, flaking or smudging. I'm currently back using another one of my failsafes (Maybelline The Falsies) as well as finishing up my Too Faced one (which I'd say the Lash Sensational is a pretty good dupe for) but this one definitely makes it up there with those guys in the Mascara Hall of Fame.

L'Oreal Infallible Lip Liner in 'Always Toasted' - Finally for makeup, we have a lipliner. A perhaps strange addition to an Empties post, but I love this ne that much I really have used it all up to a tiny nib. A perfect 'Your Lips But Better'-type shade, and one that's ideal for simply outlining your lips to give some extra definition, over-lining slightly to make them look a tad plumper or colouring all over the lips too to even them out a little. I'd say every gal needs on of these in her makeup stash.

Tresemme Platinum Strength Shampoo and Platinum Strength Conditioner - Moving onto haircare, and a category I do like to try many a new thing from and change things up frequently in, as my hair really seems to appreciate a change every once in a while. These were a definite 'Love' and one I will certainly come back to another time. I love Tresemme in general for haircare, and these were no exception. I have quite dry hair, and on top of that it's coloured, so I like to get shampoos and conditioners targeted towards that issue. These supposedly 'repair up to two years of damage' (debateable) but aside from the ever-so-slightly extravagant claims, they do a good job and my hair always looked and felt softer and in a better state after using these.

Tresemme Extra Hold Salon Finish Hairspray and Freeze Hold Salon Finish Hairspray - Last, but not least - hairsprays. I do love a good bit of hairspray every so often. When I curl my hair, or style in it any way tat I want it to stay in, I love using some hairspray to really lock that hold in. Again, Tresemme provides two of my favourites - one that's slightly softer and more flexible-feeling, the other that has a little more of a tighter grip and that you have to be extra careful so as to not end up with that 'crispy' look. Both do their job and don't smell too horrendous. Double win.

And there are all the empty products I've finished right up to their last drop over the last month (I think)! Now, what's the betting on some most all of these cropping up in a future edition of one of these posts at some point in the future?
