You know those times when it just seems like every beauty item you own that's on its last legs finally runs out almost at the exact same time? Well, for me in these past few weeks it has felt that way - with pretty much every product in the makeup category. With many of these items in fact being my holy grails in the cosmetic arena, it was a must that a repurchase was made, but also that I perhaps documented it all for you lovely lot. Welcome to another Empties post - The Makeup Edition...
RIMMEL MATCH PERFECTION FOUNDATION - Kicking things off at the very beginning of the whole makeup routine thang is this foundation. I used to love this way back in the day when I first got into wearing the stuff, and after picking up a new bottle a few months back - I can confirm it is still very much 'love'. A medium coverage with a very skin-like finish and good lasting power - it's a good'un and I may just have to make a repurchase soon after I've waded my way through some others I've already got on the go...
COLLECTION LASTING PERFECTION CONCEALER - Do I need to go off on another ramble about this concealer? You lot now how much I love this and considering how hyped-up it is - I'm sure there's some of you who love it just as much as I do too. All I can say is - if you're yet to try this stuff - do. You really won't regret it.
RIMMEL STAY MATTE POWDER - Another cheap-but-cheerful product that has seen me through many makeup-weaing years and is sure to see me through many to come is this powder from Rimmel. As you can see, I've literally used it up to its very last smidgen and that is purely because I adore it so much. A strong statement perhaps for something as simple as a powder but boy does this stuff work. A little is all you need to mattifying any areas of shine you don't want/need and once you've applied it, it really does hold that shine-free finish in place all day long. And it never, ever looks cakey. Hallelujah!
SOAP AND GLORY SOLAR POWDER BRONZER - Onto finishing parts of the face and again, this a favourite of mine that you're bound to have heard a lot about from me before as I probably mention it at every convenient moment on this 'ere blog but for good reason. This is the second one I've been through now and I like to think of that as a testament to how darn good it is of a bronzer. The perfect shade for my pale complexion with a shimmer-free finish that can also be useful as a contour. Love, love, LOVE.
MAYBELLINE THE ROCKET VOLUM' EXPRESS MASCARA - Finally, onto eyes and I have two mascaras that have recently hit the Empties bin. This one is one I personally deem a mascara for my lower lashes and while it could probably still be employed for that purpose for a little longer, I can't actually remember when I first opened this up and for me - that's a sign that something should be said goodbye to. I don't really like this one for my upper lashes as I never really found it to do much at all to them, but the small, compact wand makes it a perfect one for those pesky ones downstairs.
RIMMEL SUPER CURLER 24 HR MASCARA - This was a lash offering I picked up as part of my 'NIATD' post (here) and ever since then I've been trialling and testing it out and while I don't find it the perfect mascara for me as a stand-alone, it is very nice as a top-coat (something it too proclaims it can be used for on the packaging). The curved wand fits nicely into the base of the lashes and curls and lifts them very well indeed. Kind of a mixed bag, but I'd say if you fancy trying a mascara to layer on top of some others which perhaps don't do so much for you - this may be a good one to check out.
Rimmel Stay Matte is the best powder I've ever bought. Goodbye shiny/oily skin!
