We all love a good nude lippie, don't we? They're a staple in my makeup collection whatever the weather or season and if I'm struggling to decide on what top put on my pout that day - they're something I instantly reach for. So, wanna know five of my top picks? Carry on reading...
RIMMEL LASTING FINISH LIPSTICK BY KATE IN '45' - Hands up who's surprised at the inclusion of this one? I'm expecting a heck of a lot of you to have your arms waving in the air as with the amount of airtime this little beauty's seen round these parts over the last year, it was just always gonna make it's way to a post of this type, wasn't it? This is my perfect nude shade - a little bit pinky, a little bit mauve-y and with a touch of brown in there too. The formula's nice and sheeny and on close inspection has the tiniest touch of shimmer running through it but - rest assured - it really doesn't translate to much on the lips. I've nearly worked my way through a whole tube of this - I think that's a sign of true lipstick love right there...
MAC LIPSTICK IN 'PATISSERIE' - Talking of lipstick lovin', a more recent discovery comes from one of the first MAC Lipsticks which I bought as part of this post earlier in the month. This was probably the very first lipstick from MAC which I heard people talking about so when trying to decide which shades to invest in during the haul which took my MAC virginity - I instantly opted for this one. This is a 'Cremesheen' finish, so is once again nice and glossy and hydrating and the colour is just awesome. Like the Rimmel one, it's a lovely mix of all the standard components of a good nude lipstick and all together you're left with a shade which just looks like your classic 'MLBB'. It's more sheer than the '45', but is still detectable on the lips and if that wasn't enough - it's vanilla-scented. What more could you want?
L'OREAL COLOR RICHE EXCLUSIVE NUDES IN 'J LO'S NUDE' - A nude that certainly doesn't get any awards for scent (not that it's much of as big deal considering we're talking lippies) is this one from L'Oreal. I'm not much of a fan of the Granny-esque fragrance, though the colour and formula is spot-on. This one's more mauve-y like the Rimmel '45', but is probably the least shiny in terms of finish of the whole five I've included in this post. Don't get me wrong - it's definitely not matte by any means - but it kinda sits somewhere in-between and perhaps falls more into the 'satin' category. Because of this, it's also the most opaque of the lot, but as the colour is so similar to my natural lip hue, it still comes off very natural-looking on the lips.
NYX LIP LINGERIE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN 'BEDTIME FLIRT' - Now, some may say I'm cheating a little with this last one - but hear me out. This may not strictly fall into the 'lipstick' category, but it is a liquid lipstick, it's in a nude hue and it is one of my favourites (more of a recent one, like 'Patisserie', as I showed in this post) so I'm gonna include it anyway.

NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM IN 'STOCKHOLM' - Once again, this is more of a liquid lipstick, but it anyway. Whilst the previous four are definitely pinkier, this one's more peachy and has a slightly beige undertone without being too 'out there'; ideal as an introductory shade for those of us who want to get into the whole brown lips thang. As I've said before, the formula of these lip creams is awesome and I'd highly recommend picking one up if you haven tried them already. Even if this shade's not your cup of tea, with the massive selection they have, there's bound to be one that takes your fancy...
I love Patisserie's colour. It's one of my favorites lipsticks
