It's been a while since I last did a haul post round these parts for you lovely lot. OK, so it's only really been a month - but still - I recently placed an online order on Superdrug for some new beauty bits (all of which appear to be makeup) so if you fancy having a nosey into the contents, you know what to do...
I was in pretty desperate need of a new face primer. Every other one I currently have rattling round in my stash is either completely used up or pretty close to being so, therefore investing in a new one was high up on my shopping list. In the end, I plumped for the L'Oréal Lumi Magique Primer. I've heard so many people raving about this stuff and being one to fall for the hype eventually (as you'll see from some other inclusions in this haul) I just had to try it out. I'm a big fan of the whole luminous, dewy glow that seems to be very 'in' right now and this primer promises exactly that so I'm excited to give it a go.
You know what I said about being someone who, no matter how hard they try, falls for the hype in the end? Yeah, this product is the epitome of just that. In my defence, I do initially sit back at first and attempt to decipher just how good something is when you take away the buzz surrounding it and that was exactly what happened with the Sleek Highlighter Palette in 'Solstice'. When things initially got a little cray cray around this beauty, I held back and waited it out. Not only was I not sure whether I really needed yet another illuminating item in my stash (what was I thinking?), but having never sampled anything from Sleek before and this being a new launch from them, I also wasn't sure whether I would like it or not. Eventually, I was seeing and hearing too many good reviews for me to not try it out and so, I caved. And while I'm yet to actually try it out, from first look, I'm liking it. This comes housed in gorgeous gold-plated packaging and inside you get four highlighters - one cream, one powder and two baked. All the shades look equally heart-eyed emoji worthy and I cannot wait to crack it out very, very soon.
From Collection there were two new products which I just had to pick up. First up, there's an addition to their contouring range - the Precision Contour Sticks. These are the first cream-based contouring product from the brand and I for one am very happy about it. It's basically a creamy formula housed in a stick form, which you use to quite literally draw on your face where you want to add more shape and definition. I picked up the lightest and most ashy shade of the three - 'Light' - as being of a paler skintone (and preferring more of a grey tone to my contouring products), this looked to be the ideal hue for me. I also added the new Illuminating Touch Under Eye Brightener to my basket as I am such a big fan of their original Illuminating Touch Concealers and with this pinky-toned version being formulated especially for cancelling out those pesky under-eye bags, I knew I had to give it a go.
Last, but most certainly not least, I picked up another shade of the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Soft Luxe Matte Lip. These are basically a matte liquid lipstick (basically the type of lip product formula everyone's obsessing over at the moment) and so they go on glossy, dry down to a matte finish and therefore last pretty much all day long. When initially trying out the new range, you may remember I picked up 'Martha Moo' - a deep, mauve-toned nude shade - and having fallen head over heels for it, I decided to purchase another shade. The other one which I was torn between was 'Rhubarb and Custard' (a bright pinky coral) and so I just knew I wanted to add it to my collection as soon as I'd completed my review on the whole range (which you can find here). This formulation in particular, out of all the liquid lipsticks I've tried, is one of the least uncomfortable and I find it to sit really well on my lips too - so fingers crossed for 'Rhubarb and Custard'!
All in all, a pretty good haul - even if I do say so myself. I'm very happy with all of my purchases and as I've said, am super excited to now be able to crack them open, give them all a good go and of course report back on my thoughts to you lovely lot...
