A Big Drugstore Haul...

It might surprise some of you, but I haven't actually done a big, fat drugstore haul for a little while now. Don't get me wrong - I've certainly been in my local Boots and Superdrug a fair few times since then - but when I have, it's been more of a 'pop in to get a few specific things' as opposed to going in and taking my time to peruse the aisles slowly and picking up whatever takes my fancy. However, the other day I finally did exactly that and as usual, figured I'd show you lovely lot the results of my spending shopping trip...

First up, I had a few things that I did actually need to pick up too. Starting off with a perhaps more boring one, I needed to stock up on new razor blades and as I've had to do pretty much everytime this has happened over the past year or so, have simply bought a whole new razor pack as that actually needs up working out cheaper than the blades alone. FYI - (or maybe TMI - who knows) my favourite has always been the Gilette Venus Spa Breeze - smells nice, does the job and the little moisturising strips ensure your skin doesn't go all dry. From good ol' Garnier, I needed another of my beloved Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask that I've recently become obsessed with. A sheet mask that you quite literally stick to your face, leave for about ten minutes and then peel away and you're left with properly glowy, hydrated skin. And for only £1 a go - bargain. I also was in much need of a top-up of their Micellar Cleansing Water and spotted a new, even bigger bottle on offer for basically the same price as their standard sized one so promptly added one of them into my basket too. I also always like stock up on the Boots Essentials Moisturising Cleansing Wipes whenever I go in store as I love keeping a pack of them on standby for any makeup-related mishaps and just generally cleaning the stuff off of my hands and any surfaces that I may have had a bit of a spillage on (shhh). I repurchased the old classic, Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer as it's simply my go-to, holy grail that I always go back to and also the Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer as my current one (which I've had for probably going on two years now) is finally on its last legs and is needing replenishing. I also added another of the Soap and Glory Supercat Liner to my basket, as my current one is quickly drying up and while I am super keen to get my hands on a different one this time round (*ahem* Kat Von D Tattoo Liner *ahem*) I wanted to ensure I had a back-up of my old faithful in my drawers for in case of emergency (cause makeup's really that dramatic).

Moving onto the slightly more 'exciting' bits 'n' bobs that are completely new to me and I'm super eager to give a go. I had a couple of haircare purchases that I've been wanting to make for a while now and finally got round to it. COLAB have released a brand new scent of their Dry Shampoo - called 'Paradise' - and as soon as I heard about its launch a few weeks back, I instantly knew it had to go in my basket. The tropic fragrance sounds right up my street and paired with the amazing, invisible formula this dry shampoo has - it's got to be a winner, right? I also picked up the Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Protein Pack to give a go. I remember hearing pretty darn good things about this ages ago in someone's blog post/YouTube video and with my hair being on the dry/damaged side of things, I feel this may just be lifesaver for when it's in need of an extra dose of hydration. For such an affordable price, there also seems a good amount of product inside just this one pack too, so hopefully I can make it last a few treatments.

In terms of makeup, I picked up a new primer to test out. Sounds strange, but I really like trying out new face primers and seeing how they all work and also compare too. This one is new-in from Maybelline and I felt it instantly called out to me as something that sounds just like my cup of tea. It is their SuperStay 24HR Primer and it really does sound all kinds of amazing. This claims to smooth your skin and just generally keep your makeup looking good and in place all-day long and I am all about that. I've never actually tried anything from the base arena of Maybelline before (primer, foundation, concealer, powder - that kinda thing) and figured it was about time I did, so hopefully it'll live up to expectations. To go alongside that, I also picked up a new foundation that I haven't tried before. Yes, I know - shocker alert - as if you're a regular round these parts, you'll know that Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation has been my go-to for ages now. Sure, I've tried many other bases over that time and have loved a lot of them - but no matter how hard I try, Healthy Mix remains the one I go back to, time and time again. However, this year I kinda want that to change. I want to switch things up and find something else which I'm just as much of a fan of - so much so that I want to use it everyday. So, this is where the L'Oréal Infallible Foundation comes in. L'Oréal is always a majorly raved-about brand when it comes to drugstore bases and while their infamous True Match has never really got on well with my skin, I'm hopeful that there's another in the range that floats my boat a little more. I feel like a lot of people have gave raving reviews about this one in particular over the years and the shade that I picked it up in - the lightest of them all, '15 Porcelain' - looks to be a pretty good colour match so *fingers crossed*, eh? Sticking with the base department, I also bought the new Rimmel #Insta Fix and Go Setting Spray. As I said, this is a new addition to Rimmel's line-up and I fancied giving it as try. While the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray will probably always be my number one, go-to when it comes to fixing my makeup into place - I'm always open to seeing what cheaper options are available and having always been a big fan of what Rimmel have to offer in the base department in general, I feel this may be pretty promising. Then we move onto all things eyes-wise and honestly, this is probably my favourite, favourite item out of this whole haul. I spotted this palette crop up in a recent video of someone's and instantly knew it had to be mine - asap. This is the MUA 'Burning Embers' Eyeshadow Palette - isn't it just a beaut? This is a pretty recent launch from MUA, I believe, and it's just so, so stunning and completely my kinda thing. I am all about those warm tones at the moment and this palette is full to the brim of them. There's a tonne of warm browns, golds and bronzes and also the pinky, orangey and red-toned shades that are very 'in' at the moment (and the kind of shades I've been finding myself gravitating towards recently too). There's a whole array of different textures and finishes and I can picture so many different looks that I can create. I've tried a couple of the normal, smaller MUA palettes before in the past and remember being really impressed with the quality so here's hoping this one matches because everything else so far gets the huge thumbs up from me. Lastly - but certainly not in any way least - I picked up a new mascara. I have been super eager to try a L'Oréal mascara for yonks now and finally this time round, I have added one into my stash, ready and waiting for when my current lash offering runs out. Of all of their range, the L'Oréal Million Lashes Mascaras have to be the most talked about and after a lot of some deliberation, I decided to plump for the 'So Couture'. Much like everything new that I picked up in this haul, after hearing so many rave reviews, it is safe to say I have high hopes for this one. I'll let you know how I get on...
