Empties #19

Well, what would ya know - it's time for a delve into my beauty 'empties' once again. It doesn't seem long ago I did my last round-up (and to be honest, it probably wasn't) but for some reason,

COLLECTION PRIMED AND READY ILLUMINATING PRIMER - Kicking things off with Makeup, this has been a firm fave of mine recently, in terms of primer that is. This is a pretty inexpensive option - it's under a fiver, I think - and yet it does just as good a job as its more costly counterparts. It's of the more moisturiser-like texture, so is super easy to apply, feels very hydrating and comfortable to wear and leaves behind a slight tackiness that allows any makeup you apply on top to adhere perfectly and last all day long. If that wasn't enough, it's also got a lovely, subtle luminosity to it which is great for getting that glow going on. What more could you want, eh?

COLLECTION PRIMED AND READY INVISIBLE SETTING POWDER Then, for mattifying where I want to and just generally setting things into place - this has been my powder of choice lately. It also happens to be from the same range as the aforementioned primer - so if that isn't a raving review for that entire range, I don't know what is. I'm definitely a fan of the 'Primed and Ready' range, that's for sure. As with the primer, this stuff is cheap as chips and yet gets the job done - and it gets it done right, too. Its completely translucent, so simply sets my makeup and removes the shine without adding any extra colour or coverage (a must for me) and it's super finely-milled and so never feels or looks heavy or cakey on my skin. It basically ticks alllll of the boxes for me.

BARRY M PLUMPY TOP COAT - Nails-wise, I love me a good topcoat. Personally, it's an essential in my nailcare arena for whenever I'm lacquering up my nails. if I'm taking the time and effort) to put a pretty polish on, I want it to a). look its best and b). stay on without any chipping and so I always find a nice layer of topcoat to satisfy both of those needs in one go. This one from Barry M has been my go-to for ages now and recently I did the unthinkable in terms of nail products and I finished it. I finished a nail polish - who even manages to do that, right? Perhaps don't be expecting any of the actual 'colours' in my stash to follow suit anytume soon though...

GARNIER MICELLAR WATER - Now this one is definitely not a new empty by any means - I'm sure if you're regular round these parts you'll have seen it crop up here, there and everywhere by now - but the mahoosive size definitely is. Recently, Garnier have released this even-bigger version of their classic micellar water that everyone and their dog loves and I think it's only served to make me fall even more in love with it. Same old, awesome product; just a more generous helping of it and this one bottle has lasted me so, so long too. I think I'll be sticking with this one from now on...

PRIMARK GENTLE FACIAL CLEANSING WIPES - I am no longer a skincare slave to my face wipes anymore in terms of using them for their actual, designed use but I still love to keep a pack or two on hand for basically anything they're not necessarily aimed towards. From cleaning excess foundation off the back of my hand to wiping down the inside of my acrylic MUJI makeup storage - they are great to have ready and raring to go. These ones in particular are probably the cheapest you can find (if I'm not using the properly, I definitely don't wanna be spending a tonne on them) and they do the job perfectly.

ZOELLA BEAUTY SWEET INSPIRATIONS 'LE FIZZ' FRAGRANCED BATH FIZZER - I don't know why it's taken my so long to get through this little bath fizzer bar but considering I added it into my stash around this time last year when Zoe released her ZoellaBeauty Summer 2016 range - titled 'Sweet Inspirations' - I have only now made through it all and have only the outer packaging left. It's not that I don't love it - I definitely do - but I always feel like products like this always tend to stay in my stash for a little while till i use it - whether it be single-use or multi-use. I guess it's all down to actually remembering to use them but whenever I have used this stuff, I really like it. It doesn't have all of the fun, firework-like displays like some other bath bomb offerings but it does fizz away nicely when you plop a square (or two) in the tub and leaves behind a nice soft feeling in the water and a sweet scent too.

ZOELLA BEAUTY TUTTI FRUITY 'FOAM SWEET FOAM' CLEANSING SHOWER GEL - Also from ZoellaBeauty - it's one of my top brands when it comes to bath, body and all that kinda good stuff - and with this one, I'm kicking it back even further in time. This was from Zoe's 'Tutti Fruity' Collection that came out in 2015 and so unfortunately is no longer available anymore but with me recently reaching the end of it, I figured Id give it a little mention anyway. I know, I know - it's taken me a while - but I find that it pretty much always be the case when it comes to shower gels. I only ever tend to get the use out of them in the Summer months when even the thought of a bath terrifies me (true story) and so for the rest of the year, they can get a little neglected. But, finally these past few weeks I've finished up this awesome offering from Zoe's range and with it being both so good, but also no longer on sale - it's a bittersweet experience. The scent of this whole line is so fruity and yet fresh at the same time and I love how creamy and softening the consistency of the gel itself feels on my skin too.

ORIGINAL SOURCE LIMITED EDITION RASPBERRY AND COCOA SHOWER GEL - Another shower gel which I've had in my collection for a fair while - for the exact same reasons as I explained above - is this one from a classic, Original Source. They are just the brand you instantly think of when it comes to shower gels, aren't they? Their products have been ones I've used for years and I can't see myself ever stopping anytime soon. This was (again) unfortunately a Limited Edition variety from a couple of Summer's back but it's another good'un so I thought I'd throw it into the Empties mix nevertheless. This scent combination is so up my street it is untrue - raspberry and chocolate? Hello

SOAP AND GLORY 'ORANGEASM' BODY WASH - Finally, another body wash that I've used all up to the very last drop and have been loving too. I have to admit that the 'Orangeasm' range by Soap and Glory isn't my favourite, favourite that they offer, but it's still pretty darn delicious and the consistency of the wash itself remains on par with all of the other amazing S&G products that I've tried in the past. They are fo' sho' an awesome brand - and one I will continue to go back to, time and time again...
