It's been a long ol' while since I did a 'Beauty Brand Favourites' . If you're new round these parts, it's basically a series that does exactly what it says on the tin - I run you lovely lot through some of my absolute favourite products from one of my absolute favourite beauty brands. I've done a fair few in the past but haven't done one recently and there's one brand that I've been a fan of for a good while and have been loving a lot of products from lately - and yet somehow have not done a post of this style for yet - and that is Tanya Burr Cosmetics. The makeup line from the lovely Tanya Burr, ever since she released her first products back in 2014 (I think?) I have been a fan and my love for the brand has only grown with every launch she has done since. I'd say there's not been one product that I've tried that I've been disappointed with and while that has made collating this post kind of tough, I think I've just about managed to whittle it down to my favourite, favourites that make up my Top 5. Let's take a look...
Face Illuminator - As always, these are in no particular order in terms of which one I love the most but I figured the most logical order would be by kicking things off with the Face and what better product to start on than this glow-giver. Released as part of last year's 'Glow Your Own Way' Summer Collection, this is essentially a liquid highlighter, but while it is awesome when used in that way - the entire reason I personally love this stuff so much is using it as an all-over, gorgeous, glowy face primer. It brings some serious glow, but is in no way chunky, glittery or super-shimmery and so works super-well at giving the skin a lovely, radiant radiant sheen pre-makeup. While it is not a specified face primer, it's got a nice, slightly tacky consistency that helps makeup adhere nicely and I also find my makeup to look really nice and last really well throughout the day too when it's got this glowy goodness applied underneath. A primer that's not actually a primer? Mad, I know, but I highly suggest you picking one of these up and giving it a go yourself...
Illuminating Powder in 'Champagne Sorbet' - Another awesome glow-giver from Tanya Burr Cosmetics is this product from her most recent collection - 'Chasing The Sun' - which was released earlier this year. Since coming out with a liquid highlighter (as mentioned above) and also cream highlighter sticks in previous ranges, I feel a lot of people were anticipating some form of powder highlighters at some point and thankfully, a few months back - that's exactly what we got. Alongside one that's more pink-toned and another more deep and bronzey colour, was this gorgeous pale, champagne-gold which instantly caught my eye and I am so, so glad I picked it up. Applied onto the skin, this gives such a stunning, reflective highlight. It's super finely-milled and so doesn't look heavy and much like the liquid illuminator, instead simply gives a pretty wet-look sheen to the skin. You only need the tiniest amount to achieve a super-intense effect and the colour is just perfect for paler gals like myself. Love, love, LOVE.
Eyeshadow Palette in 'Birthday Suit' - Eyes-wise, I just had to include one of the eyeshadow palettes in this line-up. If you've been reading Dainty Ditsy for a long while, you'll already know that I am a massive (like, ma-hoo-sive) fan of them. Ever since she released the first three as part of her initial brand re-launch, I tried out the 'Hollywood' Eye Palette and was so, so impressed. The shadows were creamy, super-pigmented and very easy to blend and ever since, I have picked up pretty much every new edition that's been added to the range. And you know what? There has not been any which have not hit the same mark for me. Every single one is of the same amazing quality and for such an affordable, accessible brand - that is awesome. It was pretty hard for me to pick my favourite, favourite to include in this post but when thinking about it - the 'Birthday Suit' has to make it in there. It's the one which has gotten the most use out of all of the ones I own - the warm, mid-toned caramel shade, 'Toast' in particular - and it's basically the perfect palette for a basic, everyday-friendly eye. Even if I con't use it alone on the eyes, I tend to reach for at least one shade (again, usually 'Toast' for the perfect transition colour in the crease) on a regular basis and all in all, it's the sort of eyeshadow palette that I can't imagine not having in my stash.
Lipstick in 'Bear Hug' - Finally, moving onto one area which again, I feel like Tanya really excels at in her makeup line and that is Lips. Back in the day, it was all about her lip glosses and while theywere good, I personally feel like the prodicts she's released in that departmen since have really stolen the show. A couple of years ago, came the very first Tanya Burr Cosmetics Lipsticks and everyone (including myself) went cray cray. I tried a couple of shades out and loved them. But while I really loved the colours I picked up, the formula was the real winner for me. In a market so over-populated by matte liquid lipsticks (as you'll see if you carry on reading below) this was the first lipstick launch in what felt like forever that featured something more creamy and moisturising for our poor pouts. They are very much 'traditional' lipsticks in terms of formula, finish and even scent and though, as I said, the colours in the initial line-up were gorgeous - then along came two new colours earlier this year. Both nude-based shades - it was the peachy 'Bear Hug' which really caught my attention. I was all about 'Pink Cocoa' when I wanted a neutral tone from the range but as soon as this new colour dropped - it instantly got pushed to the side. 'Bear Hug' is the perfect nude colour for me. It's not too light, nor too dark and works with a wide variety of makeup looks. The formula is ever-so-slightly less glossy and so has that bit more staying power and matte-ish finish and with it's peachy tones and warm vibes, I really enjoyed rocking this over the Summer especially.
Matte Lip in 'Martha Moo' - Last, but definitely by no means least - another one which just had to be in here somewhere. Remember a couple of years back when this was released as part of the 'Soft Luxe' Range and everyone went so mad for it that it completely sold out and then disappeared from the shelves for a good few months afterwards? I luckily managed to get my hands on it before that happened and I am so glad I did as it is swiftly became my go-to lippie and still now - it is one of my favourites in my collection. It was back when the whole matte liquid lip craze was still fairly fresh and I personally didn't own many in my stash so the launch really excited me and it certainly did not disappoint. Not only does it smell all vanilla-ry and cake-y (mhmmm) it does exactly what you'd hope it to and goes onto the lips like a gloss - yet dries down quickly to a lovely, matte finish. It's not the most matte, matte liquid lip I own but that's not necessarily a bad thing as it's a lot more comfortable to wear and still lasts really well on the lips, so I really can't complain - plus the colour is an absolute beaut. A gorgeous nude-y, brown-ey, pinky, mauve-y colour - it's so difficult to pin down but I completely love it anyway. Haven't tried it yet? Do it - now...
And that just about concludes yet another Beauty Brand Favourites! Is there anything in this edition's line-up that's one of your ultimate faves too, or maybe perhaps have you found something new you fancy trying out? I'd love to know...
