Empties #21

It's time for another round of 'Empties' and I'm pretty sure you all know the deal by now - I basically take you through the contents of my beauty bin and all of my latest completely empty beauty bits 'n' bobs; with me showing each and every item, plus giving you all a little review as we go along. You can check out some of my previous ones here if you fancy. Let's go...

SOAP AND GLORY 'CALM ONE CALM ALL' BUBBLE BATH - I have loved this bubble bath for as long as I can remember. It was one of the first Soap and Glory products I ever tried and still to this day - it remains one of my ultimate favourites. It's got that classic scent that everyone knows and loves and the formula requires only the tiniest amount to get a tonne of frothy, fluffy bubbles going on in your bathtub.

COLAB DRY SHAMPOO IN 'PARADISE' - Haircare-wise, I love a good dry shampoo. For those days when you just want to extend your hair-wash that one day longer; or for when you simply want to add some extra texture and volume to your style - it's amazing - and COLAB has to be my favourite, favourite brand. Their formula is so fine and lightweight, and yet does such a good job at really absorbing those oils - plus, it's completely invisible too. Winner! I tried this scent in particular - 'Paradise' - back in the Summer when it first launched and I have to admit, it's quickly become one of my favourites from the range. So fresh, fruity and just generally really yummy - mmhmmm...

AUSSIE DUAL PERSONALITY STYLING ANTI-FRIZZ AND CONDITIONING MILK - For styling my hair, if I fancy putting a lil' something in before blow-drying, it'll usually tend to be this. I simple take a pump, disperse it between the lengths and ends of my locks and not only does it make my hair look and feel super shiny and healthy; it also makes the finish (before any heat-styling anyway) a heck of a lot more sleek and frizz-free than it would be without it. As with all things Aussie - the scent is incredible - and as you only need such a little amount each time, its only now that this bottle has made its way into my Empties bag.

OGX LEMON HIGHLIGHTS CONDITIONER - I picked up the duo of this range - Shampoo and Conditioner - back a few months ago and as is usually the case, I've actually finished the Conditioner up way before the Shampoo. Luckily, I managed to pick a new one up to use with the remaining Shampoo I had but - this one is all empty and if you can't guess already, I really rather liked it. Combined with the Shampoo - my hair is left feeling so super soft, sleek and shiny - and seeing as it's targeted towards blonde hair, it works perfectly on my ombre/balayage locks - making them appear even brighter, bolder and just generally keeping my colour looking pretty darn awesome in-between using the good ol' purple shampoo.

SUPERDRUG CLEANSING FACIAL WIPES - I've mentioned before on here how nowadays, I don't buy face wipes for their actual real purpose. The only time I ever 'cleanse' my face or remove my makeup with them is generally after coming home/waking up from a night out and apart from that, they're only ever used to clean up under my eyes if doing them before my face makeup, to clean any surfaces or just generally correct mistakes and these ones are just perfect for that. They're super-cheap, get the job done and don;t have an overwhelming harsh fragrance either. I think, in terms of face wipes, I'll be sticking to these form now on...

SIMPLE REGENERATION AGE RESISTING DAY CREAM SPF15 - I picked this day cream up on a little bit of a whim a few months back, when I fancied trying something new - and I am so, so glad I did. Again, you only need the tiniest amount, it applies really easily onto the skin, sinks in nicely, intensely hydrates my dry skin and, best of all, works really well underneath any makeup I apply over the top. Also, it's got a nice, base level of SPF and supposedly claims to help fight  It'a basically an all-round good egg and I am so happy to have finally found a new day moisturiser that I love and works well.

UNA BRENNAN SUPERFACIALIST VITAMIN C+ BRIGHTEN GLOW BOOST SERUM - I'd actually never used a facial serum before using this one and though I have nothing else to really compare it to - this has been a welcome addition to my skincare routine. I simply apply it before my day or night cream and then go in with one of either as usual and it works rather well. You only need to use the smallest, pea-sized amount, it melts onto the skin with practically no effort required and I do definitely notice a difference in the feel and look of my skin when I use it in-conjunction with my everyday moisturisers.

COLLECTION PRIMED AND READY SETTING SPRAY - Moving onto all things Makeup and first off - a good ol' setting spray. You all know by now that in general, I stay pretty faithful to my beloved Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray - it's definitely more pricey, but does the job the best I feel and has a nice, fine mist on it too. However, sometimes I do dabble a little in what else is on offer - especially on the cheaper, more affordable end of the scale - and this time, I picked up this fairly new release from Collection.

MAYBELLINE SUPERSTAY 24HR PRIMER - Again, a face primer from Maybelline was never something I'd given a go before this one and I can't believe I never have now I've sampled this one because, if we're going on this, they are awesome. It's fairly thin and runny in consistency but it sits really lightweight on the skin, feeling more like a moisturiser, and does a great job at making makeup apply well and last really well too. Will definitely consider repurchasing it again if I'm in need of a new face primer (right now, I am admittedly all about this one though!)

FLEUR DE FORCE X EYLURE BROW DEFINE PENCIL IN 'MEDIUM' - It had been a while since I tried a brow pencil that wasn't the NYX Micro Brow and while I love that one, I felt it was time for a switch up and so picked this one up when Fleur added it to her range not so long ago. Normally, brow pencils have a pencil on one end and a spoolie on the other, but this one has skipped on that and instead offers two colours - one on each end - in one pencil. Now, while I do miss having a handy spoolie to brush though those brows, I can easily keep a standalone one on standby and honestly, I find it so handy to have two colours in one. A darker one for the majority of my brows to really beef them up and define them, a lighter one to carefully feather the front - I am fully converted to this concept. So much so, I already have another one on-the-go...

ESSENCE MAKE ME BROW BROW GEL IN '02 BROWNY BROWS' - Also for the brows, I recently finished up this brow gel. I personally love brow gels that not only set them into place, but also add a slight tint and also add some extra fibers to beef things up and this one works perfectly. It's the ideal colour for my brows, doesn't disperse too much product at once and sets my brows without making them look or feel crispy and hard. The brush is nice and small, so is easy to apply and best of all, it's completely bargainous at only £2,99! Winner! Right now, I've gone back to an old favourite brow gel-wise, L'Oreal's Brow Artiste Plumper, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be heading back to this bad boy at some point in the near future too..

NYX EPIC INK LINER -  I'm normally about the Soap and Glory Supercat Liner, liquid liner-wise, but earlier this year I picked up a new offering from NYX that I'd seen and heard some good things about and I am super glad I did. First off, it's lasted really, really well. I've only just finished it, having used it nearly every day - which is rather impressive - and the liner itself is just awesome. The brush is a lot different from a felt tip I'm used to, but it still makes liner super-easy to apply. The formula is jet-black, rich and pigmented - glides on, dries down to a kind of satin finish and once it's on - it does. not. budge. all day long. This is my new, go-to liquid liner and I already have another on-the-go...
