I know, I know. I've only just done rather a big beauty haul here, but here I am today, back with yet more things I've been buying lately. In my defence, this is much more of a miniature-sized collection of items - just three products, in fact - and they're actually all from the same brand, Maybelline. So, perhaps not the biggest haul ever, nor the one with the most 'variety', but I am still super-excited about these products, so I figured I'd share them with you lovely lot anyway. Let's get started...
First off, I picked up a new foundation. You'll know by now if you're a regular reader round 'ere that usually, I am pretty faithful to my Bourjois Healthy Mix. It's my favourite foundation - and has been for a long, long while - and though I've certainly discovered some other bases since then that I have really enjoyed using, I still find myself coming back to my beloved Healthy Mix and I'd say it's still the one which is my favourite, favourite - if you get what I mean? Because of that, though, I really want to try and find something which comes close, or maybe even tops it and this time, I'm going to try the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid. I picked it up in the shade '02 Fair Beige' and *fingers crossed* it'll be a good match for my pretty fair, natural skin-tone. I was immediately drawn to this foundation as it claims to give a 'silky, medium coverage that doesn't clog pores, hydrates and smooths skin for a luxurious dewy finish and gives a radiant, healthy glow'. It basically sounds exactly like the sort of foundation for me - dewy, hydrating and with medium coverage. It actually sounds rather similar to the Bourjois Healthy Mix and let's just say, if it performs in the same kinda way too - we may just be onto something good. I will certainly give it a good go and let you know...
Then, for the ol' Eyes - I picked up a brand new product from Maybelline and that is their Color Tattoo Eye Chrome in 'Beige Luster'. This is essentially a liquid eyeshadow and as soon as I spotted it in-store at my local Superdrug the other week - I knew I had to pick it up to try out. Of the range, there were only three shades on offer - or at least, as of right now and at the store I went into - but of the trio I saw, this gorgeous bronze shimmer just called out to me and I literally cannot wait to give it a go. I personally love using liquid and cream shadows not only as a base for other powder shades to be layered over the top of, but also as the perfect, 'one wash wonder'-type deal where I can just lacquer it all over the lid, blend out the edges and call it a day. And if this shade is as stunning on the lid as it looks in the tube - I think it'll work perfectly.
Finally - I did say at the start that this is a pretty short-but-sweet haul - is a little somethin' somethin' for the Lips. I have just realised that not only is this a one brand shopping spree, I've also managed to buy one item for each 'section' of the face - which pleases me quite a lot, I have to admit. If you remember last month, I became fully obsessed with the fairly new Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipsticks. Originally, I picked up two deeper, darker shades that I knew I'd get a lot of wear out of during Autumn/Winter and as I was so super impressed with them both, I decided I'd pick up another, more neutral-esque colour too. This is 'Dreamer' - a pretty, pale pinky-nude - and so far, from just swatching it on the back of hand, so good. The formula seems to be consistent with both of the other shades I own - which, seeing as I love it so much, is really good - and so I'm hopeful that it'll become another firm favourite of mine. There's only one way to find out...
