I know I only did an Empties not too long ago here, but I've already accumulated a fair few empty products and with the end of the year in sight, I figured - what better time to go through them and say goodbye, so we can start afresh in 2018? I'm sure you all know the deal by now - I basically take you through the contents of my beauty bin and all of my latest completely empty beauty bits 'n' bobs; showing each and every item and also giving you all a little review as we go along too. If you fancy, you can check out some of my previous ones here but for now, let's get started with the final installment of 2017...
COLLECTION PRIMED AND READY INVISIBLE SETTING POWDER - This wonderful product has fast become my favourite pressed powder for locking my makeup into place and mattifying areas of my face. It's completely colourless and super lightweight, and yet still does a great job of taking down any excess shine and setting things down - without making my face look heavy, cakey or chalky and just generally too, too matte. It's super affordable, does the job and overall, I just love it.
ESSENCE LASH PRINCESS FALSE LASH EFFECT MASCARA - Moving onto what may just be my favourite mascara of 2017 - or at least, one that certainly is up there in the rankings. This is, again, such an affordable makeup product and yet, is just so darn awesome too. I heard some good things on the good ol' Internet about this mascara and thought I'd give it a go and I'm super glad I listened up. It's got a pretty basic-style brush (that's also rather large too), but it somehow manages to do ah-mazing things to my lashes. It basically does it all - length, volume, lift and thickness, with just the right amount of separation too - and for such a bargainous price-point, I really cannot complain.
L'OREAL LASH PARADISE MASCARA - Another mascara that I have used all up and really enjoyed is this pretty-new offering from L'Oreal. Released back in the Summer, I picked it up after hearing so many good things and overall, I'm rather glad I did. It's very, very comparable to the Too Faced 'Better Than Sex' Mascara - from the near-identical brush to the same kind of full, fluffy and fluttery finish it gives to the lashes - but it comes in at around half the price. I have to admit, it didn't last very long before it started getting seriously dried up - but again, I find that with Too Faced's offering too - and for such a good mascara, you can't really complain, can you?
TRESEMME FREEZE HOLD HAIRSPRAY - Another hair product that I've used all up lately is this hairspray from Tresemme. I don't always use hairspray, but when I do - this has been my go-to for ages now. I have the type of hair that doesn't hold styles the best - mainly curls and waves - but when I use this, that all changes. This is pretty heavy-duty and certainly not the the sort of hairspray that's 'totally invisible' and 'super-lightweight' but it does the job of keeping my curls in place and still easily brushes out with a goo ol' hairbrush at the end of the day. I've actually picked up something a lil' different this time around - just to switch things up a bit - but I will definitely report back on how I get on and how it compares to this little beauty. And, I guess if things ain't so good - I'll be making a repurchase sooner than you'd think...
MARK HILL GET GORGEOUS! 'WORK IT GIRL!' SHINE, PROTECT AND SHINE SPRAY - I've had this sitting round in my collection for ages and ages and finally I have used it all up. It's basically a heat protectant spray that also supposedly helps to add extra shine to your hair and just keep your tresses in general under control and though it's not my favourite, favourite one I've ever used - it does the job and is pretty affordable too. Having had a look around, I don't even know if they make this anymore in the Mark Hill range, but if they do - maybe give it a go yourself.
GARNIER MOISTURE BOMB HYDRATING NIGHT CREAM - Skincare-wise, I have recently used this awesome night cream up from Garnier. I have really gotten into their 'Moisture Bomb' Range this past year or so. It started with the amazing tissue masks, then moved onto their day and night creams and all in all - it is an awesome collection - and this night cream is no exception. It's got an almost gel-like consistency and so while is super-hydrating on the skin, sinks in much easier and feels far more lightweight than most cream-textured night creams. Again, it's affordable and does a great job and all in all, what more could you ask for, right?
ZOELLA BEAUTY JELLY AND GELATO 'CREAM SCRUB' BODY SCRUB - Most of these products in this Empties, as they always tend to be, have been pretty positive. I think I'm just generally quite good at sensing out a rough ideal of whether I'll like something or not before actually buying it. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong and sometimes, it's kinda in the middle and I guess that's where this item falls under. It's not bad, but it's not my favourite I've ever tried and I wouldn't buy it again - if you get what I mean. I have nothing against 'Zoella Beauty' - everything else I have tried from the brand, I really enjoy - and though this is still good, compared to the 'usual' body scrub formula that have been released before, it's not as amazing. It's not as 'scrubby' and though it's very soft and gentle on the skin, the 'original' formula is just as gentle too, and yet does a better job at buffing away those dead skin cells (yum) and so, for that reason, from now on I will definitely be sticking to the classic formula - which I believe is called 'Pretty Polished'. Sometimes, you just gotta stick to what you know and love...
