2017 Favourites Part Two: Bath and Body, Haircare and Skincare

Welcome to the second, and final, installment of my 2017 Favourites! A few days back, I kicked things off here, with Part One - as I always do - by listing off all of my 'Makeup', 'Nails' and 'Tools' that I've been obsessed with these past 12 months and as usual, today I'm going to be rounding things off with all of my top picks from the 'Bath and Body', 'Haircare' and 'Skincare' categories. Let's get started...

Bath and Body:

BEST PERFUME - 'Daisy' By Marc Jacobs - This has been my favourite perfume for a good couple of years now (I think) and I honestly can see it staying that way for a good while, as I just adore it. It's sweet, but not too sweet, it's floral (obvs) and it's also very musky - which is always something I look for in a perfume. It's just perfect for me and I really do see this as my 'signature' scent now - I honestly can't see myself straying for a long time to come, so perhaps expect to see this pop up again in next year's favourites!
BEST BUBBLE BATH - Soap and Glory 'Calm One Calm All' Bubble Bath - (Unfortunately not pictured as I recently finished my last bottle up here!) I have also been loving an old favourite this year when it comes to bath creams - and that is this awesome offering from Soap and Glory. A baby pink liquid, you only need the tiniest amount of this to create a mountain of soft, foamy bubbles in your tub. The scent is your typical Soap and Glory fragrance - sweet, almost candyfloss-like - and it leaves the water feeling all soft and silky too. MENTIONED HERE.
BEST SHOWER GEL - Zoella Beauty Jelly and Gelato 'Shower Shake' Moisturising Body Wash - A new find from Zoella Beauty's 'Jelly and Gelato' range in the Summer - I have become obsessed with this product in particular. Compared to the typical shower gel, 'gel'-like consistency, this stuff is more of a cream-base and so not only cleanses your skin in the shower (or even in the bath aswell), it also hydrates and leaves your skin feeling super-soft too. You only need a small amount applied onto wet skin to make it instantly lather up into a creamy foam and the sweet, fruity fragrance is also delicious too. MENTIONED HERE.
BEST BODY SCRUB - Zoella Beauty 'Pretty Polished' Body Scrub - I have used a fair few body-scrubs in 2017, but the one which I have come back to time and time again and I just love the most is this one. A creamy, almost-balmy consistency - this stuff is really soft and gentle on the skin - but is also 'scrubby' enough to get the job done. Combined with the 'Classic' scent of Zoella Beauty - musky, floral but also slightly sweet - it's a winner... MENTIONED HERE.
BEST BODY MOISTURISER/BUTTER/LOTION - Soap and Glory 'The Righteous Butter' Body Butter - I have, again, gone back to an old favourite in 2017 when it comes to body moisturisers. It's a classic - and for good reason too - as it really is just so, so good. Once again, fragranced with their typical S&G scent, this stuff is super thick and rich, yet sinks in beautifully. It doesn't leave your skin feeling heavy, sticky or greasy and just does an amazing job of hydrating those limbs - especially during the colder time of year that we are in right now. It also lasts forever - I am only now finishing the tub I have been using for months!
BEST TANNING PRODUCT - Dove DermaSpa Summer Revived Light-Medium Gradual Self Tan - One department that has seen a definite change in 2017, body-care-wise, has been tanning. I am always about the gradual variety when it comes to fake tanning and this one is by far the best I have come across. After picking it up, I used it religiously over the Summer and it never failed to work amazingly well. It's actually gradual (some claim to be, but aren't), the colour you're left with has more of an olive undertone so you're not left looking like an Oompa Loompa and the formula is also an utter winner too. It's got more of a gel-like consistency, so sinks in like a dream and doesn't leave me feeling sticky and greasy for hours on end - allowing me to apply, go to bed soon after and wake up with a natural-looking colour that even and streak-free too! MENTIONED HERE.
BEST FOOT CREAM - Soap and Glory 'Heel Genius' Foot Cream - Back onto something that's made countless appearances round these parts over the years and continued to be a favourite of mine in 2017 - this is the best foot cream out there. Period. Unlike others out there that seemingly make a difference but actually more so mask the problem, this one actually helps make my feet softer, smoother and crack-free (yum) in the long-run.

Haircare:

BEST DRY SHAMPOO - COLAB Dry Shampoo in 'Paradise' - I used to be a Batiste gal through and through when it came to dry shampoo (poet and I didn't know it), until I tried COLAB and became utterly obsessed. This scent launched in the Summer in particular has become  a firm favourite of mine this past year - sweet, fresh and fruity - and combined with the lightweight formula of COLAB that absorbs oil and adds texture, without overloading your hair with product or leaving a white cast is a complete winner. MENTIONED HERE.
BEST HAIRCARE RANGE - OGX Haircare - Once again, I have been all kinds of obsessed with the haircare from OGX this year. They by far hold the 'Best Shampoo and Conditioner Duo' title and in particular, I feel their 'Lemon Highlights' Range has been my favourite from 2017. Since going more and more blonde over the course of the year (and wanting to continue that way in 2018), I have been really into using a shampoo and conditioner combination targeted towards blonde tresses - alongside my usual purple toning shampoo - and this collection has really done me well. They leave my hair feeling and looking really shiny and silky-smooth and truly helps the blonde to stay in a good condition and of a good colour too. As you would have seen in this post I did in December, I also recently picked up a new range from OGX that is also concerned with looking after blonde hair and I am very, very excited to crack those open as soon as my current duo bite the dust to see if they also live up to the general consensus that OGX is darn awesome for haircare (which I'm pretty sure they will)... MENTIONED HERE.
BEST TREATMENT - Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes Purple Shampoo - Something I rediscovered in 207 and have not put down since has been this awesome purple shampoo. As I mentioned, I have really gone blonde, blonde in 2017 and want to only go more so this year and so, my focus has really been on keeping my colour looking bright, blonde and just generally good and I really feel that this toning shampoo has worked amazingly well for that. A small amount is all you need as it is so super pigmented and intense and it lathers up really well too. You don't even need to leave it on for any period of time for it to take effect and eliminate any brassy, yellow-y tones (but also not leave my hair too ashy or silvery either, as I usually like it somewhere in the middle) and the finished result lasts well through washes before you need to repeat the process too. MENTIONED HERE.
BEST HEAT PROTECTANT - Tresemme Heat Defence Styling Spray - I went back to an old classic, heat protecting spray-wise, in 2017 and I am very glad I did so. It's a classic for a reason, guys. Obviously, you can never be particularly certain of whether products like heat protecting sprays actually work; but if the current condition of my hair is anything to go by - this one definitely does do the job. The mist is super-fine and covers my hair nicely in product, my hair styles really well and relatively easily and and as I said, my tresses have felt and looked so soft and shiny since I have been using this. And I mean, it can't be a coincidence, right?
BEST STYLING SPRAY - Lee Stafford Dehumidifier Spray - I discovered this back in 2016 and continued loving it throughout 2017 too. Having kinda frizz-prone hair, this stuff is a god-send throughout the Summer, or on rainy days for keeping my hair from fluffying up and going a bit cray cray. Admittedly, since starting to use my GHD Straighteners (more on those later), I have found that they seemed to have virtually fixed the issue entirely by themselves, but I still find a good spritz of this stuff to definitely help too.
BEST HAIRSPRAY - L'Oreal Elnett Extra Strength Hairspray - I found this hairspray during 2017, having finally given into the major hype surrounding the Elnett Hairpsrays from L'Oreal in general and let me tell you - they are just as good as everyone makes them out to be. This 'Extra Strength' version in particular is awesome - super fine and doesn't leave my hair feeling crunchy or product-laden; yet it holds my hair, whatever style it may be, probably the best I have ever found a hairspray to.
BEST TOOLS - Wet Brush - Something that I found in 2017 for the first time and have loved ever since - this has fast become the best hair brush I have ever used. That perhaps sounds a tad dramatic - but hear me out on this one. This brush effortlessly glides through any knots and tangles in my hair without any tugging or pulling and also has a handle, which makes it a bit of a step-up from the sometimes-fiddly Tangle Teezer that I loved in 2016. MENTIONED HERE.
Also, as is the same as always, I am still absolutely loving my Babyliss Boutique Salon Power Hairdryer. However, 2017 was also the year when I finally invested in a good ol' pair of GHD Straighteners and oh boy, am I in love with them. They are just as awesome as everyone claims them to be and more. Oh yeah...

Skincare:

BEST REMOVER Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - We all knew this would be making an appearance here, right? I use this pretty much every single day - day and night - whether I'm wearing makeup or not. I like to cleanse my bare skin with it as a first step in the morning and in the evening if I haven't worn makeup that day; and I also love it for taking the first amounts of makeup off in the evening, before going in with a second, 'proper' cleanser afterwards. It's cheap, cheerful and does the job and for that reason, it has been a firm favourite of mine throughout 2017! MENTIONED HERE.
BEST CLEANSING PRODUCT Una Brennan Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Skin Renew Cleansing Oil - This became a favourite of mine in 2016 and continued so throughout 2017 too. The first 'proper' face cleanser I tried, this stuff is awesome at cleaning the skin as a second step after using my beloved Garnier Micellar Water. The oily texture breaks down makeup, and any general 'dirt' on the skin brilliantly and as the name suggests, it also leaves my complexion feeling looking rather glowy, smooth and hydrated too - which is always a bonus... MENTIONED HERE.
BEST FACIAL EXFOLIATOR Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Cleansing Pads - A pretty awesome find, Skincare-wise, for me this year has to go to these acid exfoliating pads. Remember last year when I was all about the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Pads? Well, this year was when I found these - which are basically completely identical to those, and yet come in at over half the price. I know! A quick swipe of one of these over my complexion every evening (and sometimes morning too) leaves my skin feeling smoother and looking far brighter and even in tone too and they never irritate my sensitive skin either. Combined with the pretty bargainous price-point, I really cannot complain... MENTIONED HERE.
BEST SERUM Una Brennan Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Glow Boost Serum - Another Skincare find from 2016 that carried on through 2017 - and another product from the awesome Una Brennan Superfacialist Vitamin C + range - is the serum. As with the Cleansing Oil, it makes my skin considerably brighter and awaken - but that's not the only plus-point. Applied before both my day and night creams, this really does seem to make a difference - both in terms of how well my moisturiser work, and also how hydrated and moisturised my skin looks and feels too. MENTIONED HERE.
BEST DAY AND NIGHT CREAMS - Simple Regeneration Age Resisting Day and Night Creams - 2017 was the year I discovered this awesome range from Simple - in particular, the day and night creams. I may only be 20 (21 this year - how?!) but I am starting to think a little about anti-aging and that's exactly where the purchase of both of these came in. I fancied a change from my usual and this range looked appealing to me - and I am so, so glad I picked both of them up. Obviously, you can never tell if the whole 'anti-aging' stuff actually works until much, much later on; but for now, I can say my skin is in pretty good condition. I use them both, every single day - of course, the 'day' cream in the morning before makeup, or alone if I'm going without; and the 'night' cream before bed - and my skin feels super-soft and smooth and hydrated and it also looks pretty bright, fresh and even in tone too. I can see myself using these for a while - so *hopefully* they'll really make a proper long-term difference. Only time will tell, I suppose... MENTIONED HERE.
BEST FACIAL SUNSCREEN - Soap and Glory Make Yourself Youthful Sunshield Superfluid SPF50+ - 2017 was the year I finally resolved to actually invest in a proper, stand-alone facial SPF to use everyday - or at least, during the warmer months - and I found this gem from soap and Glory which I have continued to regularly use ever since. Unlike some, this one is completely translucent and doesn't leave any sort of white-cast on my face, it blends in nicely, isn't heavy or greasy and sits well underneath makeup too. MENTIONED HERE
BEST TREATMENT - Nip + Fab Teen Skin Fix Spot Zap - I don't often get spots, but when I do, I like to have some sort of designated treatment ready on hand and this year, I found this great one from Nip + Fab. A rollerball packed with blemish-fighting product - I simply roll this over any spots and I find it to really help in clearing them up quicker and just generally a lot 'nicer' too. Try it - you'll be impressed for sure. MENTIONED HERE.
BEST EYE CREAM - Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream - After discovering the awesome-ness that was the complete dupe for the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Pads from Superdrug's Naturally Radiant Range - I couldn't resist picking up another product from the same collection to try. I was in need of a new eye cream, so picked this one up to give a go and I'm pretty pleased I did. Again, eye cream isn't something you can really comment on too much as the most-important results (as in, the reduction of any fine lines or wrinkles) are more something you'll see in the long-term, but in terms of things such a puffiness and brightness, I'm pleased to say that so far, so good. Not only that, my eye area also feels really soft and hydrated too - which is always a bonus considering how 2017 was the year I really got into 'baking' my under-eye area and just generally applying a tonne of powder under there! MENTIONED HERE.
BEST FACE MASK - L'OrĂ©al Pure Clay Bright Mask - It was coming to the end of the Summer and I was craving some brightness back into my complexion again - and then I spotted this new release from L'Oreal on the shelves. I instantly picked it up, gave it a go and have been faithful to it ever since. A similar, grainy formula to the 'Glow' variation I was in love with around this time last year; it's great at exfoliating my skin, leaving it feeling and looking fresh and smooth. The addition of the lemon extract, while making me look a little like a Simpson, also helps to brighten at the same time and generally, at the end, my skin just looks considerably better - and that's always what I want from a face mask. Something that pampers, relaxes but also, improves my skin too... MENTIONED HERE.
Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask - A face mask I continued using regularly in 2017 comes in the shape of this offering from Garnier. They launched even more versions throughout 2017 and having tried nearly every one - as well as the classic that launched back in 2016 - I can conclude that they are awesome. A sheet mask loaded with a thick gel-like serum - apply and leave on your skin for a few minutes, remove and massage in the excess and your skin is left feeling and looking wonderful. Personally, having a dry skin-type, these masks really help add some much-needed moisture and give my skin a nice, radiant glow too and I find the benefits last well on my skin aswell - leaving it thoroughly hydrated for a long time to come. MENTIONED HERE.

So there we have it - part two of my 2017 Favourites all done and dusted! I can't believe that another round of yearly favourites has been completed for another year - the next time, it'll be for 2018! Madness. I hope you all enjoyed and perhaps had fun guessing what'd be making the cut - considering a lot of these choices are pretty obvious, having been featured numerous times throughout the year - and definitely leave down below some of your own top picks beauty-wise from 2017, I'd love to know!
