January: The Love List

Hello and Welcome to the very first 'The Love List' of 2018! I started this series all the way back at the start of 2017 and thought I'd continue it for this year too. If you don't know the deal already, it basically does exactly what it says on the tin - a run-down of all of the things I've been loving throughout past month. You can have a little catch-up of all of the editions I did throughout 2017 here if you fancy, but for now - let's kick off 2018 with what I've been obsessing over in January...

THE WET BRUSH MINI POP FOLD IN 'ROSE GOLD' - First off this month - Haircare. We all know how much of a fan I became of The Wet Brush last year and so, when I spotted this handy little travel version - in rose gold casing too - before Christmas, I instantly added it to my Wishlist (which you can check out here). I wasn't lucky enough to receive it, so went out afterwards to purchase it myself and I have been loving it ever since. The only minor 'downside' of the normal Wet Brush is that it isn't the most travel-friendly and personally, I really like to have a hairbrush on hand sometimes to give things a brush on-the-go, if they need it. However, this compact version is just ideal for exactly that and I am so happy to finally have my favourite hairbrush, in this sort of set-up!

OGX HYDRATE AND COLOUR REVIVING + LAVENDER LUMINESCENT PLATINUM SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER - Another new favourite for Hair comes in a new range that I tried this month from OGX. Again, we all know how much I adore OGX and their Shampoos and Conditioners and when my last duo ran out, I spotted this new collection and knew I wanted to give them a go next. And let me tell you, I am really glad I did. I think this range may just be my favourite, favourite I've used so far. Not only do they make my hair feel and look so healthy, soft and shiny; they also make my blonde look pretty awesome too. They're not 'toning' products per see, but they make my hair look that perfect mix I like between 'ashy' and 'golden' and just eliminate any unwanted brassy tones in an instant. My hair looks bright, refreshed and as I said, feeling in pretty condition too - I literally have no complaints. They also have a gorgeous scent too - mmmm...

MAKEUP REVOLUTION CONCEAL AND DEFINE CONCEALERS IN 'C1' AND 'C2' - Now, onto Makeup and what has to be possibly be my ultimate favourite new find of this whole post (and possibly everyone else too, seeing how hard they are at the moment to get hold of). Everyone and their Nan has been going absolutely crazy for these and now I've tried them out myself, I can certainly see why. Not only are they only £4 each (yes that's right, four pounds!) the product inside is pretty damn good too. The super-large doe foot makes application a breeze and while the texture of the concealer itself is rather thick, it blends out easy-peasy, has insanely-high coverage and actually feels rather lightweight on the skin too. Once blended in and set down, it just looks so smooth and 'flawless' and lasts all day long too. 'C1' is just a smidgen lighter than my natural skin-tone and so works perfectly for areas where I want coverage, but also to brighten and highlight slightly (like the under-eye's); whilst 'C2' is basically my perfect colour match and so works a dream around all other areas of my face. I think I may have finally found my new go-to, holy grail concealer that's replaced my beloved Collection Lasting Perfection. I know, seriously...

MAKEUP REVOLUTION LIFE ON THE DANCE FLOOR 'GUEST LIST' PALETTE - I know, I know - the second inclusion in this post from Makeup Revolution (and there's more to come too) - but I really have been enjoying the brand this month. Again, I mentioned this palette in my Christmas Wishlist and bought it pretty soon after The Big Day when I wasn't lucky enough to find it underneath the tree - and I have been completely in-love ever since. Ever since buying - and becoming obsessed with - the Soph X Eyeshadow Palette, I have made it my personal mission to try more eyeshadow palettes from Makeup Revolution and as soon as I spotted this line-up, it became the first on my hit-list. It basically contains all of the types of colours I love - warm browns, reds, pinks, purples, oranges - and comes in, like the Soph X Palette, at £10 for 24 different shades. And you know what? The quality is just as awesome, if not even better. The massive pans give you so much product and the shadows themselves are creamy, super-intense and blend like a dream. There is little to no kick-back in the pan and no fall-out on your face, yet the pigmentation is insane and they last all day with no flaking, creasing or fading too. You can achieve so many looks - all warm-toned, obvs - and I cannot wait to experiment even more with it.

MAKEUP REVOLUTION LIQUID HIGHLIGHTER IN 'LUMINOUS LUNA' - Next up from good ol' Makeup Rev is a brand new type of product that I had been itching to try from them for so, so long - and it was only after the release of this new shade that I finally felt I could give it a go. This gorgeous, pale, pearly white hue is just spot-on for my paler complexion and it really is as multi-purposeful as everyone claims these types of liquid highlighter drops to be. Whether to mix in with my moisturiser, primer or foundation; used alone on bare skin as a base or used as an actual highlighter in its own right (or before popping on a powder variety if you really want that extra poppin' glow) - they. are. awesome. You quite literally need only a drop or two at the very most and they are so super-intense and blinding.

MAKEUP REVOLUTION SKIN KISS HIGHLIGHTER IN 'ICE KISS' - Finally for Makeup Revolution - I promise - we have a second, and final highlighter addition. Again, I have been wanting to try one of these highlighters for so, so long and I figured when placing my order that I might aswell finally throw one in for good measure. And let's just say, I am really pretty pleased I did. Not only is it only £4 and you get a ma-hoosive pan of product to boot (like seriously, it's pretty huge) the product itself is all kinds of awesome. A super pale, icy white colour - very similar to that of the liquid highlighter drops - and like those, it works with my paler complexion perfectly. The formula is super-pigmented (though can easily be sheered out simply using a lighter hand) and though it deposits a gorgeous glow, it's super finely-milled and not at all chunky or 'glittery' on the skin. I think this may be my new go-to for getting my glow on...

MAYBELLINE SUPERSTAY MATTE INK UN-NUDE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN 'SEDUCTRESS' - Lips-wise, if you read this post - you'll know that I had a lot of new products to try out for that category this month - and one of my favourites was this new shade of the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink's. I already own - and love - a couple of their original hues and so was pretty confident the two colours I picked up from their new 'Un-Nude' Collection would be equally as awesome - and they really are. However, as of right now, it is this shade, 'Seductress', that I have become the most obsessed with. It's basically my perfect nude - a lovely, pinky-brown nude that's neither too light, nor too dark - and in that wonderful formula that I already adore. A super-pigmented lacquer that dries down, but not as powdery-matte as most liquid lipsticks and once it's on, it stays there pretty much all day long and takes a heck of a lot of effort to actually get off. What more could you want, eh? I definitely will giving 'Ruler', the other shade I picked up - a gorgeous raspberry pink - more of a proper go very soon. Who knows, maybe it'll feature in next month's line-up...

MISS SPORTY REALLY ME MATTE TO LAST 24HR LIP CREAM IN 'LOVELY ROSE' - Finally for January, another liquid lipstick that I also mentioned in that aforementioned 'New In The Drugstore' post, tried out afterwards and have been loving ever since. This is a completely new, new launch to the drugstore scene and though I'm not a big buyer of Miss Sporty, the fact they launched a range of liquid lipsticks immediately peaked my interest and I'm super happy it did as, going from this colour alone, they are pretty darn good. They remind me a lot of the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipsticks - with the same moussey texture and powdery matte finish - and this light, pinky-nude is super pretty too. It's fully opaque in colour in just one layer, dries down quickly and lasts really well throughout the day aswell. A great option for the *hopefully* very-nearly upcoming Spring months...
