I'll admit, I never used to really 'get' the hype surrounding stick foundations. For me, most (if not all) seemed simply too thick, heavy and matte in texture for my dry skin type and personal makeup preferences and so I always steered clear - until good ol' Makeup Revolution (or Revolution Beauty as they are now called) launched their Fast Base Stick Foundation. Claiming to give a healthy, dewy finish and a medium coverage, yet still with a lightweight finish - I was finally inspired to pick up a foundation in this handy, compact format and having given it a go, I'm super glad I did. It. Is. Awesome and so, why not share some of the different ways you can utilise it (and any stick bases in general)? Some of these I've tried and tested myself, some I've simply heard other's rave about - but either way, they're a lot more multi-tasking than you may originally think...
AS AN ACTUAL FOUNDATION (OBVS) - The obvious one, but it's still gotta be mentioned, right? Simply swipe all over your face and blend out either with a dense buffing brush or a dampened beauty sponge (I personally find both to work perfectly fine, especially with the super-creamy formula of the Fast Base) and you're good to go.
AS A FULL COVERAGE CONCEALER - The thicker consistency of stick foundations typically makes them very high in pigmentation and coverage and so perhaps if you've got blemishes, redness or bags that are in need of some extra TLC - look no further. Whether you again choose to swipe some on under the eyes in perhaps a slightly lighter colour to lift and brighten, or take some of your usual skin-tone shade onto a smaller brush for proper pinpoint, detail work - the coverage is there and if used in conjunction with it as your regular foundation, everything blends in seamlessly too.
TO CARVE OUT THE BROWS - Just like your standard cream and liquid concealers, take some of your stick foundation on small, defined brush and you're ready to carve out your brows if things got a little out of hand, or you simply want to make a line or shape sharper and cleaner. The coverage and pigmentation is intense enough to do so and if you again decide to use it as your regular base as well as concealer, things will blend together even more effortlessly, so you really cannot go wrong.
...OR SIMPLY SHARPEN AND CLEAN ANYTHING UP! - I mean, if it can clean up your brows, the same principal applies to any other mistakes you may make with your makeup, or any areas that need some tidying up along the way. Want to sharpen up the outer corners of your lip line or the base of the wing of your eyeliner? Once again, take some of your stick foundation on the same small, slim brush and you're set.

TO CREAM CONTOUR AND/OR HIGHLIGHT - Finally, probably the second most well-known way of utilising a stick foundation, asides from the actual 'foundation' part, is cream contouring and highlighting. Simple take the same stick, but in a slightly darker colour and take it on the perimeter of your face, hollows of your cheeks, jawline, the sides of your nose - you get the gist - and buff out as normal and you've got your cream contour down. Or, perhaps take a slightly lighter, brighter colour and apply as you would to highlight the face - on the tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose and cupid's bow - and you've got yourself a nice, more 'structural' highlight going on. Yes, it may not give the kind of super-glistening glow that we all know and love, but shape-wise it'll add dimension nicely and the cream formula means you can always layer over something more shimmery afterwards!
