A Rediscovered Mascara Favourite...

Remember 'back in the day' when Tanya Burr would rave on and on about a certain mascara from Maybelline - 'The Falsies'? I, and a lot of others too, picked it up on her glowing recommendation and let's just say - I definitely wasn't disappointed. It offered pretty much everything I personally look for in a good mascara - lots of length, tonnes of volume, a bit of thickness (but also separation) and a nice, curly, fluttery finish. Also, despite this being the 'regular' formula, this stuff never smudged or flaked off and my lashes looked just as good at the end of the day as they did at the beginning. All in all, it was a winner. But, just like ends up being the case with a lot of makeup products I buy and love, gradually over time I move onto something else - usually something new - and then it kinda gets forgotten about. And that's exactly what happened with this mascara. Mascara is generally something I experiment with and try new variations of a lot (usually I pick up a different one every time my current tube is running/has run out) so I guess it's not springing that until now, it wasn't a go-to of mine anymore. However, not too long ago Maybelline seem to have given the packaging a little bit of an upgrade and as a result, promoting it a lot more and so, I couldn't help but be intrigued and eventually, pick one up to try for myself...

But, I guess the real question is - do I enjoy is as much as I used to? Well, actually - I do! The packaging is still very similar to before and the bristle brush remains the same, both in terms of shape and set-up. The formula is still quite 'wet' to start off with and does work well from the off, but after a couple of uses soon dries out a little and becomes easier to build upon and create more instant impact and to me, the whole combination creates the same kind of finish that it used to - that I described above. Basically, this is still a pretty awesome mascara and one I'd definitely recommend if you still haven't given into the hype surrounding it and gave it a go yet...
