It wouldn't be #DitsyDecember without a few Polish Picks thrown in here and there - right? So, I thought today I'd kick things off with the first (and definitely not the last) one for 2018's series! And with Christmas/New Year's only round the corner, I guess it's no big surprise that they're all gonna centre around all things glittery, sparkly and shiny. It is the festive season after all! So, let's get started with how I decided to lacquer up my nails for the first time this December...
I really wanted a rose gold theme for this nail look, so I started things off by going in with a couple of coats of an old fave of mine - the Barry M Molten Metal Nail Paint in 'Pink Ice'. A pretty metallic, shimmery polish in a gorgeous icy rose hue (as the name suggests) - this has been a go-to of mine for ages now whenever I want a rose gold-toned effect - hence why I headed straight to it when I had this 'look' in mind.
Two coats of that and everything was fully opaque and rich in colour and I was ready to top things off with a little extra somethin' somethin'. As I always say, you could easily leave the look as it is with just the base colour, but with it being Christmas and all that - I just had to go that one step further. Although, I kinda do that with my nails pretty much all year round. For that, I decided to go for the Barry M Glitter Nail Paint in 'Fairy Dust'. I actually got this as part of a free gift set when placing an order on Superdrug a month or so ago and have only just used it - but I am already in love. A bronzey, rose gold glitter topper on first look, but come in closer and you can see flashes of iridescent green running through it too! An interesting colour that's definitely unique to anything else already in my collection (yes, really) and layered over the top of something like 'Pink Ice' - it's a winning combination, in my opinion...
