As you perhaps would have seen if you saw my Christmas Wishlist post for this Christmas here, one gift I had my eye on the entire festive season was the new Limited Edition Christmas range from Soap and Glory - 'Naughty But Spice'. I love Soap and Glory and I love most, if not all of the fragrances they use throughout their ranges and so, I was confident this would be no different. You can never have too many bath and body products in your stash - especially when they're from good ol' S&G - and honestly, with this being a Limited Edition Collection, I was especially intrigued and wanting to give it a try, before it potentially goes out of stock for good.
I wasn't lucky enough to receive any of the range at Christmas, but when perusing the Boots Sale the other day, I came across the bigger gift featuring the 'Naughty But Spice' Collection, half price. So, instead of being £14, I picked this set up for just £7! And that's pretty damn good if you ask me. So, I thought I'd use some of my Christmas money and give it a go and a few days later when doing my normal weekly pamper, excitedly decided crack it open and try it all out! Let's see what I thought (in terms of my initial, first impressions) of the whole range...
The scent of this range claims to be 'a fabulous, floriental scent-sation that smells good enough to eat, with notes of baked plum and cinnamon'! I mean, if that doesn't sound a pretty yummy fragrance, I don't know what does. So, firstly, I tried out the 'Best Washes' Spiced Body Wash. And of course, the first thing I took note of was the fragrance - and yes, it really is as amazing as it sounds. Sweet and fruity, but slightly spicy at the same time. And what I really love about this scent is that it's not too much of anything. Sometimes spicy, rich scents that we typically associate with the Winter can be very intense and almost a little sickly, but this just isn't at all - yay! And also, in terms of this first product itself, I am liking it so far. This is a body wash with a lovely, creamy consistency that cleanses, whilst also moisturising the skin at the same time. It lathers up nicely when it comes into contact with slightly-dampened skin and not only is the scent really nice and strong whilst you use it, I find it also lingers in the background for a while afterwards too!
Then, next up, was the 'This Butter Be Good' Hydrating Body Butter. I love a good, thick, hydrating body butter - and so far, this certainly seems like one of the good 'un's. Again, the scent is just like before, though possibly even stronger and more intense, probably due to the way that you apply this directly to clean, dry skin as opposed to diluting it down in the bath tub. The formula is just like all of the normal body butters from Soap and Glory - which is great, if you ask me. So thick and with almost a whipped-like texture, but yet sinks into the skin so quickly and easily and leaves behind no greasy or slimy feeling afterwards. You need the smallest amount cause it really does go a long way too! Come the next morning after applying this, my skin still felt so soft, smooth and nourished and surprisingly, the scent was still hanging on aswell.
Finally, as a final, finishing touch, I gave the 'Naughty But Spice' Body Spray a go. I wear 'proper' perfume most regularly, but occasionally when I don't fancy it I reach for a body spray and so, I was eager to give this one a try. And I've actually tried out the body mists from Soap and Glory before and always been happy with them, so I was hopeful this would be the same - and thankfully, it is! The scent is the same as before and actually works pretty well as a stand-alone fragrance - which I wasn't sure where it would. I guess because this scent is not too sickly or sweet, it makes for a pretty nice body spray and it's also just strong enough to make an impact, without being overpowering. Obviously, as a body mist, it doesn't last as long as a perfume, but it does a pretty decent job of hanging in there nevertheless and the bottle is easy to pop in your bag and top-up throughout the day...
