Revolution Makeup Haul!

It's been a little while since I did a good ol' collective shop from Revolution Beauty. They release so, so many products all the time and most of them tend to catch my attention. So, gradually I've been collecting all of the ones which have and having now invested in everything I wanted to (at least, for now - ha), I thought it was about time I showcased them all to you lovely lot - so I can finally get to testing them all out and giving you my thoughts!

First up, for the Base, we have the Revolution Hydrate Primer. Honestly, it's not often new primers catch my eye. I have my favourites, know what I tend to like for my skin and makeup preferences and sometimes, new launches just don't tick those boxes. However, this one most definitely did. Released along with three other face primers, all catered towards different skin types and preferences - obviously the hydrating version appealed to me the most. Having dry/dehydrated skin and a love for a glowy look, I'm all about a good, nourishing primer that'll moisturise my skin and leave it looking nice and radiant and this sounds like the perfect one for just that. As with everything in this post, I'll give it a go and let you all know how I get on. Sticking with the face, I also picked up two new face powders. Revolution, until now, have only launched loose powders and personally, none of the shades appealed to me or my skin-tone. I'd always wished they'd bring out more colours to suit everyone and hopefully, maybe even pressed versions too. And finally, they have! They are the Loose Baking Powders and the Bake and Blot Pressed Powders and naturally, I just had to pick up a shade of each to give a try. I decided to go for 'Translucent' in both, as completely colour-free face powders (both loose and pressed) are generally what I like and use the most - and I can't wait to get testing them out! Then, last but certainly not least for the Face Products, I picked up the Obsession 'Mega Lightening' Highlighter. Obsession are a brand under the whole 'Revolution Beauty' umbrella - along with I Heart Revolution, Revolution Pro and of course, Revolution themselves - and since their re-launched last last year, I've always been tempted by one product in particular. And, obviously, it was a highlighter. They have a decent range of shades in this range and naturally, I plumped for what seems to be the lightest one - 'Mega Lightening'. A pale gold, marbled with deeper bronze veining - I think this may mix together to create a pretty gorgeous highlight for my paler skin-tone. I'll keep you in the loop...

Now, we come to Eyes and obviously, I picked up a decent collection of products for this particular area. I love all things eye makeup and Revolution almost always have something new and exciting to try. The first being their Prime and Lock Eye Primer. In terms of eye primers/bases, I'm sure it's no secret that right now I'm all about the P.Louise Base. A thick, concealer-like texture that you pat on until slightly dry/slightly tacky and get going with your eye makeup - I love it. It's all I've used to prime my eyes since I discovered it, but when I spotted this on the Revolution Beauty website, it's safe to say I was a little intrigued. Basically, this looks to be a 'dupe' for the P.Louise Base. You apply it in the same 'patting' technique and use it without setting it down too. I'd say definitely keep your eyes peeled round these parts for a comparison post of the two at some point soon. Then, similarly, I also bought one of the new Cut Crease Canvas'. A similar kind of product, but instead, you use this on top of your shadow to 'cut the crease' and create a full cut crease, half cut crease, a halo eye - to name but a few. I like doing cut creases, but usually use whatever concealer I'm using. And, with the Revolution Conceal and Define being my current fave, I feel like this may be a good product to try. Usually, I have to use a separate, small, flat brush to apply my concealer wherever I want to 'cut', but with this Cut Crease Canvas you not only get a formula especially catered towards this technique, but with a built-in brush applicator too. I decided to go for the shade 'Illustrate' - the fairest skin-tone shade - which I feel will work best for me, but I am maybe interested in picking up 'Halo' (the pure White) if I get on with it well. I'm looking forward to giving this a try, especially in conjunction with some of the other eye products I picked up in this haul!

Moving onto perhaps the most 'exciting' eye items I picked up - where all things colour, glitter and everything like that comes into play. The first are the new Revolution Eye Glistens. Basically, dual-ended eye colours - with a metallic liquid shadow on one end and a liquid glitter on the other! Sounds good, right? The idea with these is that you apply the metallic side first, before layering over the glitter and you've instantly got your eye look down. And with the precise applicators, I can imagine these would be perfect for cut creases, halo eyes or anything like that, where you create a more detailed or structured look. I can also see these being pretty versatile too. Yes, the idea is that you use both sides together, but I guess you could use either alone or paired with other eye products too, such as powder shadows - which I will definitely be doing. Throw some mattes in the crease/outer corner and on the lower lashline, throw one of these on the lid and you'll be good to go. I love all five colourways of these that they've released, but decided to just plump for two right now, until I give them a go and see if I like them or not - and they are 'Yours Truly' (a duo-chrome pink/gold metallic shadow and rosey-pink glitter) and 'Dreamland' (a deep bronze metallic shadow and warm, golden glitter). A lighter colour scheme and a darker one - ideal to see what these are all about. Then, I just had to pick up a couple of new palettes. Revolution are always launching new eyeshadow palettes, the latest being some new colourways of their popular Reloaded Eyeshadow Palettes. Two in particular caught my eye the most, and so I really wanted to give them a go. I already love this collection of palettes - super affordable (£4 each!), but such good quality too - so I'm pretty confident I'll love both of these colour schemes too, but of course I will let you know. I went for 'Provocative' (a gorgeous berry-toned palette, with a mix of shimmers and mattes) and 'Marvellous Mattes' (a super bright palette with basically every colour of the rainbow inside and - you guessed it - all matte shades). Both super-pretty palettes that I cannot wait to get testing.

Lastly, we have one sole product for the ol' Lips. As I said last month, I'm not usually a lipgloss kinda gal. I love a matte lip, unless it's a nude - and even then, I tend to stick with mattes. However, since last month, when I tried out a lipgloss (also from Revolution) and surprisingly loved it, I have fancied giving another proper go. And, in the end, I went for this one. Another nude-type colour (cause they are still the only types of glosses I can see myself ever wearing) - this is the I Heart Revolution Chocolate Lip Gloss in 'Salted Caramel'. I remember when this range launched not too long ago, this was my favourite colour which I thought would suit me and my skin-tone the best. So, when I wanted to pick up another nude gloss to try, I instantly remembered this one and added it to my basket. For me, this looks to be the perfect nude gloss. A pinky-brown that's not too light, not too deep
