As you may have saw in my last post on Monday, this week I'm doing all new 'Beauty Brand Favourites'! A.K.A. - me detailing my five top picks from one of my favourite beauty brands. I hadn't done one for ages so I thought it was about time I updated a few - three to be precise - all this week! First up was Rimmel, today we have Maybelline...
CITY BRONZER - I really like this bronzer! I picked it up a couple of months back when it launched and so far, so good. It's more cool-toned so I actually prefer it more for contouring the face than bronzing, but it's great to have other options aside from my usual NYX Blush in 'Taupe' to shape and sculpt with. The formula is nicely-pigmented - not too much, not too little - just as you typically want your cheek products to be (unless it's highlighter) and the formula is nice and creamy to apply and blend onto the skin. Perfect!
MASTER CHROME HIGHLIGHTER IN 'MOLTEN ROSE GOLD' - Talking of glows, this highlighter is definitely one of my favourites from Maybelline. I think the whole Master Chrome Highlighters are awesome overall (I've heard equally-amazing things about other shades in the range too) but for now, this one is certainly my personal go-to. The perfect, warm, rose gold shade that whilst a little darker than some other highlights in my collection, still works like a dream on my paler skin-tone. Yay! The formula is so creamy and smooth and whilst deposits a super intense, blinding glow with minimal products required (though you can easily dial this up or down as you wish - I think we all know which one I tend to go for) it's not at all chunky or glittery in anyway at the same time. Just really sheeney and glowy - lovely.
LASH SENSATIONAL MASCARA - This mascara is an utter classic - right? Everyone's tried it and pretty much everyone loves it too - myself included. This is definitely one of my favourite drugstore mascaras I've ever tried. I tend to try a new mascara every time my current one runs out but if I ever fancy going back to an old fave - this is always the one I go for. It's thickens but also separates the lashes out nicely, doesn't clump, lengthens well and gives a tonne of volume too! It really lifts and curls my lashes and whilst its not the waterproof version, I find it tends to stay put all day or night perfectly without smudging, transferring or crumbling off at all.
SUPERSTAY MATTE INK LIQUID LIPSTICKS - Lips-wise, these liquid lipsticks are great! They're different to my usual favourite type of matte liquid lip in that they're not fully, fully matte - but I still really like them. They still set down into place, they just simply retain a little bit of a sheen to them, giving them an almost patent-like finish. Somehow though, they still last almost impeccably on the lips all day or night long. Aside from the usual touch-ups after eating or drinking (as is the general standard for most liquid lipsticks) they stay in place until you say so! The applicator makes applying pretty easy, they glide opaque in one coat and the colour range is so, so good too.
SUPERSTAY NAIL POLISHES - Finally, a Nail-related inclusion! This range of polishes just had to make the cut for this post - they're so good! They glide onto the nails easy-peasy, are full coverage in just the standard two coats, dry down quickly both in-between coats and at the very end and last pretty well on the nails. They also have a gorgeous, shiny, thick, gel-like finish which I really love too. Definitely one of my top nail polish formulas from the drugstore!
